Senior DevSecOps Engineer

Job Description A leading financial services organization is seeking a Senior DevSecOps Engineer to join its Platform and Security Engineering team. This role is responsible for designing, securing, automating, and supporting modern cloud infrastructure and platform services within a large-scale AWS environment. The ideal candidate is a hands-on engineer with deep expertise in cloud infrastructure, Kubernetes, Infrastructure as Code, CI/CD automation, and security engineering. You will play a key role in embedding security best practices throughout the software delivery lifecycle while helping build scalable, resilient, and compliant platforms. This position requires someone who can independently solve complex technical challenges, drive automation efforts, and take ownership of initiatives from design through production deployment. Required Skills & Experience 10+ years of experience in DevSecOps, Platform Engineering, Cloud Engineering, Site Reliability Engineering (SRE), or related fields Advanced hands-on experience supporting AWS-based production environments Expertise with Terraform and/or OpenTofu for Infrastructure as Code Strong experience deploying, operating, and securing Kubernetes environments Experience working with Docker and/or Podman Experience with configuration management and automation tools such as Ansible Strong CI/CD pipeline experience using Jenkins and related technologies Proficiency with Python, Bash, or similar scripting languages Experience implementing infrastructure security controls including:Vulnerability management Secrets management System hardening Least-privilege access Logging and monitoring Experience troubleshooting complex cloud, infrastructure, networking, and application issues Strong communication, documentation, and problem-solving skills Ability to work independently and drive technical initiatives from concept through production Desired Skills & Experience Experience with Packer and automated image-building solutions Experience with Infrastructure as Code testing frameworks such as Terratest, Pester, or similar tools Experience designing and securing enterprise CI/CD pipelines Strong GitHub and Jenkins experience Experience working in highly regulated environments such as financial services, healthcare, or other compliance-focused industries Familiarity with security frameworks including SOC 2, ISO 27001, and NIST 800-53 Experience implementing Kubernetes security and container-hardening controls Experience integrating AI-assisted development tools into engineering workflows while maintaining security and governance standards What You Will Be Doing Daily Responsibilities 100% Hands-On Engineering Design, build, and maintain secure AWS infrastructure and platform services Develop and manage Infrastructure as Code using Terraform and OpenTofu Support AWS networking, identity, compute, storage, and Kubernetes environments Build automation solutions using Ansible, Python, Bash, and related tools Deploy, operate, and secure containerized platforms using Kubernetes and Docker Create and maintain CI/CD pipelines to improve deployment reliability and efficiency Implement cloud security best practices across infrastructure, containers, and deployment pipelines Develop automated testing and validation processes for infrastructure code Monitor, troubleshoot, and resolve production platform issues Participate in architecture reviews, code reviews, and engineering standards development Partner with security and governance teams to ensure compliance, risk management, and operational excellence Leverage AI-assisted engineering tools responsibly to improve development, testing, and automation processes The Offer Contract opportunity with potential for extension Competitive compensation: $80-$110 per hour Hybrid work environment Opportunity to work on enterprise-scale cloud, security, automation, and platform initiatives Exposure to modern DevSecOps practices and technologies You will receive the following benefits Medical Insurance Dental Benefits Vision Benefits Paid Time Off (PTO) 401(k) Applicants must be currently authorized to work in the US on a full-time basis now and in the future.
