Title: Engineering Specialist Location: Dowdy Dr Gonzales Louisiana 70737 Duration: 2 Years Visa: Only US Citizens Must Have: TWIC Card, Capital Project Experience Job Description We are looking for a Project Engineer to lead assigned capital projects and manage engineering, design, and construction resources within a manufacturing plant environment. This position will be Full-Time, On-Site in Gonzales, LA and a contract role. What You’ll Do Lead assigned capital projects (standalone projects and projects within plant outages) and manage all engineering, design, and construction resourcesDevelop estimates, funding documents, schedules, and ongoing forecasts for plant-executed projects within SAPEnsure all projects receive adequate process hazard reviews and ORIs, and ensure timely completion of recommendationsEnsure inherent process safety is adhered to on all project designsProvide field supervision and support during project executionManage project safety, ensuring compliance with all safety standards and goalsMaintain projects within budget and schedule constraintsEnsure all projects meet the operability needs of the customerConduct Safety Kickoff Meetings with contractors and operations teams before project executionConfirm contractors are aware of and follow all client Safety StandardsClearly communicate safety goals: 0 Recordables, 0 First AidsComplete short-term contractor BSP forms daily during project executionComplete JSA reviews and fill out JSA Review forms daily during project executionParticipate in the Safe Work Permit issuance process with the operations teamLead daily morning safety/toolbox meetings with all craftsReport all incidents immediatelyEnsure all contractors on-site for project execution have submitted an Emergency Action Plan prior to mobilizationParticipate in Safety Sampling and Critical Safety Audits during outagesAttend and contribute to monthly Safety Meetings What You’ll Need Required: Strong organizational and planning skillsStrong leadership abilitiesExperience in manufacturing plant operations, maintenance, and capital projectsTechnical degree in Chemical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or Electrical EngineeringAbility to obtain a TWIC card, Security Passport, and pass refinery background checks (TWIC card must be current and valid for project completion)Preferred: Familiarity with quality standards as outlined by client
