Description

Open role NPI & Customer Qualification Engineer Why this work matters Touchdown is engineering modular manufacturing for the chips and memory systems future computing needs. This role helps turn a buyer's physical result into a qualified process or a defensible decision to use an existing supplier. Advanced packaging is our intended first fab class; no production fab is operating today. Overview You will be the handoff between a customer's real product need and the engineers who must prove a route. Define the workpiece, use condition, accepted result, sample plan, and decision owner. Compare the proposed route with an available supplier on the same terms, then coordinate design, process, test, quality, cost, and transfer evidence. What you will own Turn a customer workpiece and accepted output into DFM/DFT, CTQs, sample plan, supplier comparison, and transfer decision.Convert a buyer workpiece and application into DFM, DFT, CTQs, sample size, and acceptance tests.Compare a partner baseline with the proposed route on the same customer outcome.Coordinate customer, process, test, quality, and commercial handoffs through transfer.Write the acceptance and rejection criteria with the buyer before samples are made or compared.Track open design, process, test, quality, and supplier risks through a documented transfer or stop decision. Technical territory Customer specifications, DFM/DFT, package and test requirements, CTQs, sample-size rationale, qualification matrix, product reliability, change control, data rights, cost per accepted unit, and transfer gates. Representative outputs A customer qualification packet naming the receiver, acceptance test, baseline route, rights, and stop conditions.A customer qualification packet with scope, baseline, samples, data rights, and signer.A transfer checklist showing open risks, cost, and stop conditions.A cross-functional qualification review with the measured result, baseline comparison, unresolved risks, and buyer decision. What success looks like The buyer can accept or reject the result against a written test. The team knows whether to transfer, revise, use a partner, or stop. The buyer can accept or reject the result without inventing criteria after the test.Engineering and commercial teams agree whether to transfer, revise, partner, or stop. What you bring Semiconductor or package NPI, customer qualification, product engineering, and test handoff.Led semiconductor or package NPI and customer qualification. Can interpret product specs, test escapes, reliability, and manufacturability together. Can turn vague customer requests into written acceptance and reject criteria. Can coordinate customer requirements with process capability, test coverage, reliability, and cost. Can manage a qualification decision when evidence is incomplete or the supplier baseline is stronger. Helpful experience Customer product engineeringDFM/DFT and qualification planningPackage product engineeringCustomer technical program managementDesign-to-manufacturing transfer How the role works Applications are open; the exact work location, arrangement, compensation, and start date will be discussed during hiring.Early work can produce engineering plans and partner comparisons. Hands-on work begins only at qualified, authorized facilities. You will work with process, equipment, quality, test, customer, and supplier owners as the scope requires.
