Associate Software Engineer

Location: Milwaukee, WI Work Arrangement: Hybrid, onsite 3 days per week (Monday-Wednesday) Compensation: $35/hr-$40/hr Key Expectations Deliver well-defined user stories, bug fixes, and enhancements of small to medium complexity with occasional guidance.Participate actively in Agile ceremonies, code reviews, and team discussions, contributing questions, ideas, and feedback.Follow established engineering standards, testing practices, CI/CD pipelines, and deployment processes.Work closely with a mentor during onboarding while building knowledge of the business domain, application architecture, and team processes.Develop and maintain applications using TypeScript/JavaScript, modern development frameworks, REST APIs, and cloud-native practices.Utilize AWS cloud services, containerization technologies, and monitoring tools as part of day-to-day development activities.Leverage AI-assisted development tools and agentic workflows to improve productivity, code quality, testing, troubleshooting, and documentation.Demonstrate increasing ownership by taking on more complex stories, contributing to larger feature implementations, participating in support rotations, reviewing peer merge requests, and recommending improvements to code quality and system design.Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent experience.1-3 years of software development experience.Proficiency in TypeScript/JavaScript and modern application development.Familiarity with AWS, CI/CD pipelines, Git, automated testing, and containerized applications.Understanding of software engineering best practices and modern development workflows.Strong communication, collaboration, and problem-solving skills.Experience using AI-powered engineering tools such as GitHub Copilot or similarsolutions is preferred.
