I'm partnering with an ambitious robotics company building and deploying humanoid robots in real factory environments.
They're looking for a Mechanical Engineer to design the manipulation hardware that makes these robots genuinely useful, owning critical components from early concepts through production and deployment.
In this role, you'll:
Design robotic arms, joints, actuators, transmissions, structures, and end effectors end-to-end
Optimize mechanisms for torque density, backdrivability, weight, stiffness, durability, and cost
Integrate motors, gearing, bearings, sensors, and structures into compact, manufacturable assemblies
Rapidly prototype with 3D printing and CNC, then transition designs into repeatable production hardware
Lead testing, durability analysis, failure investigation, and DFM/DFA alongside suppliers and manufacturing partners
They're looking for an engineer with 5+ years of hands-on experience designing and shipping electromechanical hardware, ideally involving robotic manipulators, actuated joints, humanoids, cobots, legged robots, or precision motion systems.
Deep expertise in mechanism and actuator design, machine design, GD&T, tolerance analysis, and a major CAD platform such as SolidWorks, Creo, NX, or Onshape is essential.
Experience with dexterous hands, FEA, lightweighting, sensors, or whole-body robotics is a strong plus.
This is an on-site opportunity in New York City with significant ownership over the mechanical architecture and the chance to build manipulation hardware designed to operate reliably on real factory floors.
