Senior Cloud Infrastructure Engineer

Role: Senior Cloud Infrastructure Engineer Location: UK Salary: Up to £90,000 + excellent benefits Tech: GCP / Kubernetes / Terraform We're partnering with a major UK organisation going through a significant cloud and platform transformation, and we're looking for a Senior Cloud Infrastructure Engineer to join the team. This is a genuinely hands-on infrastructure role for someone who wants to help shape a modern GCP-first engineering platform rather than simply maintain an existing environment. The organisation is moving from a complex multi-cloud estate towards Google Cloud, with Kubernetes at the centre of its platform strategy. You'll work across cloud infrastructure, platform engineering and security, helping build an environment that is scalable, resilient and secure by design. You'll help design, build and evolve the organisation's GCP platform, working extensively with GCP, GKE, Kubernetes and Terraform. A major part of the role is improving how engineering teams safely consume infrastructure – building reusable patterns, automation and guardrails while reducing manual processes. You'll also have a strong focus on cloud security and continuous assurance, including security posture management, compliance monitoring, configuration drift and remediation. You'll ideally have strong production experience with GCP and GKE, combined with deep Terraform knowledge and experience building or operating cloud platforms at scale. Experience working through cloud migrations or major platform transformations would be particularly valuable, especially where legacy AWS/Azure environments have remained operational during the move to GCP. You'll also understand how to secure cloud infrastructure through IAM, workload isolation, security guardrails, CSPM, continuous compliance and configuration management, rather than security being something considered after the platform has been built. We're particularly interested in engineers who have built Golden Paths, Internal Developer Platforms or self-service infrastructure, and who enjoy helping other engineering teams adopt good cloud practices.
