Software Engineer

Software Engineer – Test Infrastructure Development to design, develop, and maintain internal web applications and engineering tools used by technical teams. The ideal candidate will be a full-stack software engineer with strong Python skills and hands-on experience with React/JavaScript/TypeScript, SQL, REST APIs, Linux/Bash, CI/CD, and application deployment. This is primarily a software development role, with a focus on building engineering and test-infrastructure tools rather than manual QA testing. The engineer will work across the frontend, backend, database, deployment, and infrastructure layers and will troubleshoot software, application, and production issues as needed. Key Responsibilities Develop and maintain internal web applications and engineering tools.Build end-to-end features based on requirements and technical designs.Develop backend services and REST APIs using Python and related technologies.Build responsive frontend interfaces using JavaScript/TypeScript, React, HTML, and CSS.Design and integrate relational databases.Create efficient SQL queries, indexes, and database schemas.Perform basic query and execution-plan analysis and optimization.Develop and consume secure REST APIs.Apply API security concepts such as OAuth, JWT, SSO, and RBAC.Troubleshoot software defects, performance issues, deployment problems, and production incidents.Support Linux application deployment and routine infrastructure maintenance.Use Bash/Linux shell scripting for automation and troubleshooting.Monitor applications, review logs, and diagnose processes and system issues.Support CI/CD pipelines and application releases.Write maintainable, testable, and well-documented code.Write and maintain automated tests as appropriate.Participate in code reviews and follow established engineering standards.Maintain technical documentation for applications and systems.Use Git and standard software-development workflows.Leverage AI-assisted development tools where appropriate.Support AI-enabled workflows such as search, summarization, log analysis, and automation.Collaborate with Test Engineering, Product Engineering, Manufacturing, Operations, and globally distributed software teams.Independently execute assigned development tasks within an existing software architecture.Required Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.3+ years of hands-on software development experience.Strong full-stack software development experience.Strong proficiency in Python.Practical experience with Bash/Linux shell scripting.Strong SQL and relational database knowledge.Experience with JavaScript and/or TypeScript.Hands-on experience with React.Experience with HTML and CSS.Experience developing and consuming REST APIs.Experience with backend services and database integration.Working knowledge of Git and code-review practices.Working knowledge of CI/CD processes.Experience deploying applications in Linux environments.Experience troubleshooting software, applications, logs, and production issues.Understanding of software testing and debugging practices.Strong problem-solving and communication skills.Ability to independently execute development tasks within an existing architecture.Database Requirements Candidates should have practical experience with relational databases, including: Database/schema designSQL query developmentEfficient queriesIndexingBasic query optimizationExecution-plan analysisDatabase/application integrationLinux & Infrastructure Requirements Hands-on experience should include: LinuxBash/Shell scriptingApplication deploymentProcesses and system troubleshootingApplication monitoringLog analysisBasic networking conceptsRoutine infrastructure maintenanceAPI & Security Requirements Experience with REST API development and consumption is required.
