Human Factors and Ergonomics Engineer Location: Dorval, QC or Wichita, KS. Hybrid, 2 days on-site moving to 3. Salary: Upto $120,000 (CAD) DOE . Contract type: Permanent Envisage Recruitment is working with a global Tier-1 aerospace OEM to find a Human Factors and Ergonomics Engineer to join their Flight Deck design team. This group makes sure the aircraft hardware, software and work environment fit the people who build, fly and support it. You'll work on cockpit geometry and interfaces through 3D modelling, simulation, rig testing and product evaluation, and you'll help define the physical and functional interface requirements that go into the design. It's a hands on physical ergonomics role sitting inside a flight deck certification programme, with direct contact with flight crews and other human factors specialists across maintenance and manufacturing. Key responsibilities Contribute to User Centered Design activities for Flight Deck and Human Machine Interface (HMI) designApply physical ergonomics expertise (anthropometry, strength, reach, vision) to support tests and analysisWork with flight crews to develop and assess cockpit physical usabilitySupport requirements elicitation, validation and verification for flight deck interfacesCarry out task analysis and human error analysisContribute to flight deck and UX development and evaluationCreate and manage documentation for Human Factors activities on new aircraft, cockpit modifications and sustaining programmesCollaborate with human factors specialists in maintenance and manufacturing The person Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Science or Industrial Design, plus a degree in ergonomics or equivalentPractical experience in physical ergonomics (anthropometry, strength, reach, vision)Solid hands-on experience with 3D modelling tools such as CATIA, NX, Jack or RhinocerosInterest and relevant experience in the aerospace industry, including aircraft systems and the regulatory environmentKnowledge of manufacturing processesStrong technical writing and presentation skills, English required, French an assetComfortable working independently and under pressure, with shifting priorities To apply, or for a confidential discussion about this role, contact Nick Mellor at Envisage Recruitment.
