Staff AI Engineer - Platform & Agent Systems - FinTech Excellent opportunity opens for a Staff AI Engineer to join a growing FinTech and take ownership of the architecture, governance, and operational framework behind advanced AI and agent-based systems. This is a unique opportunity to influence the technical direction of a greenfield platform where AI is being embedded as a foundational capability rather than an add-on feature. This role sits at the intersection of AI engineering, distributed systems, platform architecture, and governance. You'll play a leading role in defining how intelligent agents are created, managed, monitored, and safely deployed within a complex enterprise environment. Working alongside senior product and engineering stakeholders, you will help establish the technical standards, tooling, and operational frameworks that enable AI capabilities to scale securely and reliably. Main Responsibilities Designing the platform architecture that supports intelligent agent deployment and lifecycle managementEstablishing frameworks for agent permissions, controls, execution boundaries, and decision-making autonomyBuilding observability and evaluation mechanisms to measure performance, reliability, accuracy, and operational costDriving technical decisions around AI infrastructure, orchestration, and platform capabilitiesCollaborating closely with software engineers, architects, and product teams on platform-wide design initiativesImplementing safeguards and governance measures suitable for regulated environmentsEnsuring AI systems remain scalable, resilient, secure, and production readyContributing to the longer-term AI strategy and technical roadmap Key Requirements 8+ years of software engineering, machine learning, or AI-focused experienceExperience within FinTech, Banking, Payments or other highly regulated sectorsExposure to agent orchestration frameworks, evaluation platforms, and model monitoring solutionsExperience building internal AI platforms or enterprise AI infrastructureProven experience delivering AI-powered products into production environmentsStrong background designing autonomous or semi-autonomous agent systemsExperience creating governance frameworks, approval workflows, operational controls, and oversight mechanismsDeep knowledge of LLM ecosystems, orchestration frameworks, and AI toolingStrong software engineering skills, ideally with Python and cloud-native architecturesExperience working with distributed platforms, APIs, microservices, and event-driven systemsUnderstanding of security, compliance, and risk considerations within complex enterprise environmentsFamiliarity with cloud environments such as AWS, Azure, or Google CloudAbility to influence technical direction and work effectively across senior stakeholder groups Interested?
