Mechanical Design Engineer

Mechanical Design Engineer Salary: £35k-£45k (depending on experience) Location: Cambridgeshire An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Mechanical Design Engineer to join an established and innovative product development business. The company designs and manufactures high-quality, technically complex electro-mechanical products, taking projects from initial concept and development through to production. This is a fantastic opportunity for an Engineer looking to develop their career within a hands-on engineering environment. You'll work closely with experienced engineers and cross-functional teams, gaining exposure to the full product development lifecycle while developing your ability to take ownership of mechanical design projects. Key Responsibilities: Develop designs from initial concept through to prototype, manufacture and productionProduce 3D CAD models, assemblies and detailed engineering drawingsBuild and assemble prototypesPrepare manufacturing documentation, assembly instructions and technical drawingsWork closely with production teams to identify and resolve mechanical issuesInvestigate new materials, manufacturing processes and finishing techniques Skills & Experience Required: Degree, HND or equivalent qualification in Mechanical Engineering, Product Design or a related discipline3D CAD design skills – SolidworksUnderstand mechanical manufacturing processes, materials, tolerances and finishing techniquesHands-on experience with prototyping or workshop-based activitiesExperience developing consumer, scientific or electro-mechanical products If you're a Mechanical Design Engineer looking for an opportunity to develop your skills, work on interesting products and become part of a collaborative engineering team, then apply with a copy of your CV.
