Senior Full Stack Developer

Job Role: Senior Full Stack Developer (W2 - Contract) Location: Florham Park, NJ – 3 days a week onsite Employment Type: Contract Job Overview We are seeking a Senior Full Stack Developer with strong hands-on experience across .NET, SQL Server, and modern front-end development using React or Angular. This is a true 50/50 full-stack role supporting internal operations applications and helping modernize a large portfolio of legacy systems. The ideal candidate is a strong communicator who can work closely with technical teams and business stakeholders, troubleshoot complex applications, and contribute to the modernization of older platforms. Key Responsibilities Design, develop, enhance, and maintain full-stack applications using .NET and React/Angular. Write and optimize complex SQL queries, stored procedures, and database logic in SQL Server. Support and modernize existing legacy applications while maintaining business-critical functionality. Participate in application modernization initiatives, including migrating older technologies to modern frameworks and architectures. Develop both backend services/APIs and front-end applications as part of a 50/50 full-stack role. Troubleshoot production issues, identify root causes, and implement sustainable fixes. Collaborate with internal operations, engineering, and business teams to understand requirements and deliver solutions. Participate in code reviews, technical discussions, testing, and deployment activities. Help identify opportunities to improve application performance, maintainability, scalability, and reliability. Required Skills Strong hands-on experience with C# / .NET / ASP.NET Core. Strong SQL Server development experience with complex queries, stored procedures, joins, indexing, and performance tuning. Strong front-end development experience with React. Angular experience will be considered in place of React. Proven full-stack development experience with approximately 50% backend and 50% frontend responsibilities. Experience working with and modernizing legacy applications. Strong debugging, problem-solving, and analytical skills. Excellent communication and collaboration skills. Nice to Have DB2 experience is highly preferred. Experience in financial services / banking / insurance environments. Experience with application modernization and legacy technology migration. Experience with REST APIs, microservices, CI/CD, and cloud technologies. Experience working with large, business-critical internal applications.
