Job Description We're looking for an Intermediate Environmental Planner / Project Manager to join our infrastructure team in Ottawa, Canada. In this role, you will manage environmental planning initiatives and infrastructure projects from conception through completion. You will be responsible for conducting environmental assessments, coordinating with regulatory agencies, and ensuring compliance with federal and provincial environmental standards. The ideal candidate will demonstrate strong analytical capabilities, exceptional organizational skills, and a commitment to sustainable infrastructure development. Develop and manage environmental planning strategies and project timelines for infrastructure initiativesConduct environmental impact assessments and prepare detailed technical reports and documentationCoordinate with federal, provincial, and municipal regulatory agencies to ensure compliance with environmental legislation and permitting requirementsAnalyze environmental data and utilize GIS tools to support planning decisions and project recommendationsManage project budgets, resources, and schedules while maintaining quality standards and project milestonesEngage with stakeholders, including community members, government officials, and project teams, to gather input and communicate project progressIdentify and assess project risks, developing mitigation strategies to ensure successful project deliveryPrepare presentations and briefing materials for senior management and external stakeholdersCollaborate with multidisciplinary teams including engineers, scientists, and consultants to integrate environmental considerations into infrastructure designMonitor project performance against established metrics and adjust strategies as needed to optimize outcomes Qualifications 5 + years of professional experience in environmental planning, environmental assessment, or infrastructure project managementDemonstrated expertise in environmental impact assessment methodologies and regulatory complianceStrong proficiency with project management software and toolsExperience with GIS software and environmental modeling platformsSolid understanding of federal and provincial environmental regulations and permitting processesExcellent analytical and data interpretation skills with the ability to synthesize complex environmental informationProven ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously while maintaining attention to detailStrong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to prepare technical reports and present findings to diverse audiencesExperience in stakeholder engagement and public consultation processesProficiency in budget management and resource allocationPreferred: Experience with sustainability principles and green infrastructure initiativesPreferred: Background in team leadership or mentoring junior staffPreferred: Knowledge of infrastructure planning and design principles Why Join Us?
