THE ROLE IN SHORT Michelin Connected Fleet is moving from being connected to being a connector. Our published strategy commits us to collecting data through OEM partners, transforming it by enriching our offers with internal and external partners, and monetising insights by systematically making our APIs available to others. MCF EAA needs dedicated senior architecture support for its growing OEM, partner and customer ecosystem, so that impact assessments, feasibility studies, high level solutions and technical due diligence are available when the business needs them. This role sits at the intersection of software architecture, data architecture and platform strategy. It is deliberately outward-facing: you will work directly with OEM partners, ecosystem partners and, where appropriate, customers, operating at MCF EAA entity level alongside the local directors and their teams. It also brings senior data architecture expertise into the CXS architecture team, contributing to the target data architecture, canonical models, governance and data workflow design alongside the architects who own them. What will I be doing Ecosystem Integration Architecture Establish integration architectures connecting customers, partners, suppliers, third-party platforms and internal servicesDefine API, event and data-sharing standards, including schemas, contracts, versioning and governanceCreate reusable integration building blocks that accelerate ecosystem expansion, so each new partner is an application of a pattern rather than a fresh designDesign data architectures for Model Context Protocol (MCP) or equivalent model-agent context exchange frameworks Dedicated Architecture Support for MCF EAA Produce impact assessments, feasibility studies and high level solution designs for MCF EAA initiativesRun technical due diligence on new offers and commercial opportunitiesAct as the architectural point of contact for OEM and ecosystem partners, and for customers where the integration warrants itOperate at MCF EAA level: attend the entity's forums and work alongside the local directors and their teams, translating business intent into platform design and back again Contribution to Data Architecture Contribute to the target data architecture strategy, canonical data models, master and reference data, data contracts, metadata standards and discoverabilityContribute to data architecture governance principles and how they extend existing software architecture governanceContribute to data workflow architecture across ingestion, streaming, orchestration, transformation, storage, data products and analytics/AI consumption, including observability, lineage and qualityEnsure the data architecture supports data sharing and monetisation across products, customers, partners and ecosystems Modern Architecture Approaches Promote API-first architecture, treating APIs as strategic business capabilities with composability and reusabilityPromote event-driven architecture for real-time information exchange and loose couplingApply data product thinking and data mesh principles, with domain-oriented ownership and federated governanceBuild in governance by design: security, compliance, privacy, lineage and data quality from inception Contribution to SaaS Platform Architecture Contribute to scalable multi-tenant SaaS architecture, tenant isolation, extensibility, security and observability patternsSupport rapid onboarding of customers and partners, aligning integration and data architectures with the SaaS operating modelHelp define platform capabilities that let ecosystem participants exchange and consume information efficientlyCoordinate employee training and development initiativesEnsure our recordkeeping and data processing procedures comply with GDPR requirements TO BE SUCCESSFUL YOU WILL LIKELY HAVE: Ten or more years in software engineering and platform development, including five or more years in architecture leadership positionsProven experience building cloud-native SaaS platforms and designing enterprise-scale integration and data architecturesExperience working with ecosystem-oriented business models involving customers, partners and external data providersDemonstrable experience working directly with external partners and customers on technical design, with credibility in front of senior business stakeholdersA track record of defining architecture strategies that align technology investments with business outcomesStrong grounding in API-first design, event-driven architecture, domain-driven design, data mesh/data product operating models, and TOGAF or comparable enterprise architecture practicesDepth in integration architecture and API platforms, distributed systems and microservices, event streaming, data modelling, MDM, lineage and quality, and data platform/lakehouse conceptsFamiliarity with technologies such as Azure, AWS or GCP; Kafka, Pulsar or Event Hub; Kubernetes; API management platforms; and modern data platforms such as Databricks, Snowflake, Fabric or BigQuery Work-life balance is important to us at Michelin Connected Fleet, so we offer our teams as much flexibility as possible in line with the needs of their role.
