CloudOps Engineer

Our virtual fencing platform combines solar-powered neckbands, cloud software and mobile technology to enable farmers to manage cattle without physical fences. What started as an ambitious AgTech innovation is now used across more than 10 countries and continues to scale rapidly throughout Australia, New Zealand, North America and beyond. As our platform grows, so does the complexity behind it. We're looking for a CloudOps Engineer to help build, scale and optimise the cloud infrastructure that powers thousands of connected devices operating in some of the world's most remote locations. This is not a maintenance role. It's an opportunity to influence the architecture, reliability, performance and future scalability of a global IoT platform at an exciting stage of growth. Why This Role Matters Every eShepherd neckband continuously streams data from the field to our cloud platform. As customer adoption accelerates, we're expanding into new regions, supporting increasing device volumes and introducing new capabilities on top of the same foundation. You'll Be The Engineer Helping Us Answer Questions Like How do we scale before customers feel the pain?Where are the bottlenecks hiding?How do we design infrastructure that supports global growth? You'll work closely with our software engineers, cloud specialists and product teams across Melbourne and Hamilton while playing a critical role in supporting our growing North American business. What You'll Be Doing You'll Design, build and optimise scalable AWS cloud infrastructureAnalyse system performance, capacity and reliability at scaleImprove database performance, architecture and operational efficiencyBuild and maintain Infrastructure as Code, CI/CD pipelines and deployment toolingStrengthen monitoring, observability and incident response practicesHelp shape multi-region and global platform architectureInvestigate and solve complex performance and scalability challengesSupport production environments that are relied upon by customers every dayPartner with customer-facing teams to understand how our platform performs in real-world environmentsInfluence engineering decisions through experimentation, evidence and data-driven insights This is a highly autonomous role where you'll uncover problems, challenge assumptions, bring evidence and help define the solution. What You'll Bring We're looking for someone who is curious, practical and enjoys solving difficult technical challenges.
