About The Role We are seeking a driven and mission-focused Python Developer to join our team in Herndon, VA. In this pivotal role, you will contribute to innovative projects that support the Intelligence Community, helping to safeguard our nation from emerging threats. This position offers an excellent opportunity to grow your expertise alongside talented Software Developers, Data Engineers, and System Engineers while working on solutions that have a significant national impact. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in software development, with a focus on Python, and be capable of translating complex requirements into effective software solutions. You will be involved in designing, developing, and testing software components, collaborating closely with cross-functional teams to ensure the delivery of high-quality products that meet stringent security and performance standards. Qualifications The ideal candidate will possess the following qualifications: High School Diploma with 7+ years of experience in software development.At least 3 years of recent experience developing applications using Python.Proficiency in SQL and experience managing databases.Experience in front-end development or full-stack development.Strong understanding of software development lifecycle and agile methodologies. Responsibilities The key responsibilities include, but are not limited to: Understanding project requirements and designing robust software components to meet those needs.Researching new software concepts, developing prototypes, and demonstrating proof-of-concept solutions.Collaborating with team members to understand existing product features and identify areas for improvement.Developing automated unit and integration tests to ensure software quality and reliability.Participating in code reviews, providing constructive feedback, and adhering to best coding practices.Engaging in the project's agile development process, including daily stand-ups, sprint planning, and retrospectives.Communicating effectively with fellow developers and, on occasion, with end-users to gather feedback and clarify requirements.
