About The Role We are seeking a highly skilled Web Developer to join our team for the upcoming DTRA PAO contract located in Fort Belvoir, VA. The successful candidate will be responsible for architecting and maintaining the technical web infrastructure that supports DTRA.mil’s media galleries and digital content. This role requires a detail-oriented professional capable of ensuring the secure, high-performing hosting environment for interactive digital media, including videos and multimedia presentations. The Web Developer will collaborate closely with cybersecurity teams to implement best practices for secure coding and compliance with DoD cybersecurity mandates. The position offers an excellent opportunity to work on mission-critical projects that impact national security and defense initiatives, providing a challenging yet rewarding environment for experienced web professionals. Qualifications The ideal candidate will possess a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Web Development, Information Technology, or a related field. A minimum of 5 to 10 years of experience in both front-end and back-end web development is required. Advanced proficiency in HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript, and responsive design principles is essential, along with experience in database integration and managing web environments that host interactive media and video streaming. Familiarity with DoD cybersecurity requirements and secure coding practices is mandatory, including the ability to perform vulnerability patching and system updates regularly. Candidates must demonstrate knowledge of Section 508 compliance and WCAG standards to ensure web accessibility for all users. Experience in cross-platform optimization for desktops, tablets, and mobile devices is also necessary. Additionally, active IAT Level II certification (such as Security+) or equivalent is required, alongside the ability to meet physical demands such as lifting up to 25 pounds, standing, walking, and periodic bending or twisting. A current security clearance at the Secret level, along with U.S. citizenship, is mandatory for employment at this location. Responsibilities The Web Developer will be responsible for architecting, maintaining, and optimizing the agency’s web infrastructure to support high-demand digital media content. This includes ensuring seamless integration and playback of high-production-value videos and interactive digital products without compromising site speed or performance. The role involves implementing and maintaining robust web security practices, performing routine site maintenance, vulnerability patching, and applying software updates in accordance with DoD cybersecurity standards. The developer will ensure the website’s mobile responsiveness and cross-device functionality, guaranteeing accessibility and usability across various platforms. Additional duties include collaborating with cybersecurity teams to maintain compliance, troubleshooting technical issues, and supporting the deployment of new features or enhancements. The candidate will also be expected to stay current with emerging web technologies and security practices to continuously improve the web infrastructure’s efficiency and security.
