🌲 Senior Software Engineer (Full Stack – Java) 🌲 — SC Cleared 🌲 📍 Cheltenham, Plymouth, Manchester, or Bristol (Hybrid) · 💰 £45,000–£70,000 My client is a specialist software consultancy delivering bespoke solutions to solve complex operational problems for Central Government customers. As their team grows, they're looking for an experienced Full Stack Engineer to join a live delivery team working on mission-critical systems used by government caseworkers and citizens. 🌲 The role You'll work full lifecycle — from requirements and architecture through to delivery, support, and maintenance — on a Java, TypeScript and React stack, deployed across AWS and Azure. You'll be based out of one of the client's UK offices (choose your own office/home balance under their hybrid policy), with roughly fortnightly in-person time with the end client. Depending on experience, there's real scope to grow into technical leadership — owning architecture decisions, mentoring engineers, and managing client relationships directly. 🌲 What you'll be doing Designing, building, and testing full-stack solutions using Java (backend) and React/TypeScript (frontend)Building and maintaining CI pipelines in GitLab, with a strong focus on code quality and securityDeploying and operating systems across AWS and AzureWorking directly with government stakeholders to translate operational needs into technical solutionsDepending on seniority: leading design decisions, mentoring junior engineers, and owning client relationships 🌲 What we're looking for Solid commercial experience with Java, Spring Boot (or equivalent), TypeScript, JavaScript, and ReactComfortable working across both AWS and AzureConsultancy background is a plus but not essential — they care more about your delivery track recordGenuinely enjoy working directly with clients and translating ambiguous requirements into shipped software🌲 Security clearance — please read before applying This role requires active SC clearance or eligible to obtain.
