Job Title: Full Stack Python Developer Job Type: Contract · Inside IR35 Location: London — Hybrid (3 days a week) Duration: 12 Months The Role We are seeking an experienced Full Stack Python Developer to design, develop, and support enterprise-grade applications across the technology landscape. The ideal candidate will possess strong expertise in Python, Flask, MongoDB, Shell Scripting, and Linux environments, combined with front-end development experience to build scalable, secure, and high-performing applications supporting critical business functions. The successful candidate will collaborate with global technology teams, business stakeholders, and infrastructure partners to deliver innovative solutions that support our client's strategic initiatives across Capital Markets, Investment Banking, Wealth Management, and Enterprise Technology. Your responsibilities Backend Development Design, develop, and maintain scalable applications and microservices using Python and Flask. Develop RESTful APIs and service integrations supporting enterprise platforms. Build reusable libraries, utilities, and backend frameworks. Ensure application security, performance, scalability, and resiliency. Front-End Development Develop responsive and user-friendly web interfaces using modern JavaScript frameworks. Integrate front-end components with Python-based backend services. Optimize user experience and application performance. Database Management Design and optimize MongoDB database schemas and collections. Develop efficient queries, indexes, and aggregation pipelines. Ensure data integrity, security, and performance. Linux & Automation Develop Shell/Bash scripts for operational automation and monitoring. Support deployment, troubleshooting, and application performance tuning within Linux environments. Perform root cause analysis and production issue resolution. DevOps & SDLC Participate in CI/CD pipeline implementation and deployment automation. Contribute to code reviews, testing strategies, and technical documentation. Follow Agile development methodologies and DevSecOps best practices. Collaboration & Leadership Work closely with business analysts, architects, QA teams, and infrastructure teams. Mentor junior developers and contribute to technical design discussions. Drive continuous improvement and engineering excellence initiatives. Essential skills/knowledge/experience Backend Technologies Python (Advanced) Flask Framework REST API Development Object-Oriented Programming (OOP) Multithreading and Concurrent Processing Front-End Technologies JavaScript React.js / Angular (preferred) Qualifications Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, or equivalent. 8+ years of hands-on software development experience. Strong expertise in Python application development. Proven experience developing Flask-based applications and APIs. Hands-on experience with MongoDB and NoSQL databases. Strong Linux administration and automation experience. Experience building full-stack enterprise applications. Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and communication skills. Nice to Have Exposure to Capital Markets, Trading, Risk, or Wealth Management platforms. Experience supporting high-availability and mission-critical applications. Experience working in globally distributed teams. Knowledge of cloud-native architecture and container technologies.
