About the Role:
On behalf of our client, a market-leading global online delivery platform, we are hiring a Senior Golang Engineer in London.
In this core backend position, you will build ultra-low-latency distributed services, real-time order processing pipelines, and high-concurrency microservices handling hundreds of thousands of concurrent requests across global markets.
Key Responsibilities:
Design, develop, and maintain high-performance microservices and distributed backend systems using Golang.Architect low-latency event-driven systems and asynchronous messaging pipelines utilizing Apache Kafka and RabbitMQ.Optimize backend service performance, memory allocation, and CPU profiling to handle severe traffic spikes with minimal latency.Collaborate within cross-functional agile squads with Product Managers, Site Reliability Engineers, and Mobile Engineers to ship platform features.Champion software craftmanship through strict adherence to clean code, comprehensive unit/integration testing, and code reviews.Design and maintain scalable database schemas and caching strategies across PostgreSQL, Redis, and DynamoDB.Maintain cloud-native infrastructure utilizing Docker, Kubernetes, Terraform, and AWS cloud environments.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
5+ years of software development experience with at least 3+ years of dedicated, hands-on production experience in Golang.Deep expertise in concurrent programming (goroutines, channels), distributed systems concepts, and memory management in Go.Proven experience designing and running high-throughput REST and gRPC microservices in production.Strong practical knowledge of distributed caching (Redis), relational databases (PostgreSQL), and message brokers (Kafka).Solid understanding of containerization (Docker), orchestration (Kubernetes), and observability (Prometheus, Grafana, OpenTelemetry).Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related technical field.Strong verbal and written English communication skills.
