The Fragrance Shop is on a steep growth track with many exciting new development plans. We are expanding and are looking for a BI Lead to join the team and be part of a growing and vibrant brand. Role Overview We are looking for an experienced Senior BI Developer to support and develop the company's Business Intelligence and reporting function. The role will take ownership of a broad range of reporting across the business, working closely with stakeholders across Trading, Ecommerce, Finance, Retail, Marketing, Operations and Customer Services. The successful candidate will be hands-on technically, with strong SQL and data modelling skills, experience developing and supporting BI solutions, and the ability to work directly with stakeholders to translate business requirements into reliable reporting and data solutions. Key Responsibilities Develop, maintain and optimise high-quality Power BI reports, dashboards, semantic models and data models that support commercial decision-making.Design intuitive data visualisations and dashboards that clearly communicate performance, identify opportunities and drive action.Maintain and support existing QlikView reporting applications and associated reporting processes, supporting the transition to modern BI platforms.Develop and support SQL Server data warehouse solutions, including tables, views, stored procedures, ETL processes and performance optimisation.Design and maintain robust dimensional data models, including fact and dimension tables and star schemas, to support scalable reporting and analytics.Build and maintain automated data pipelines that integrate internal and external data sources, including APIs, OData feeds and flat files.Support the migration of the BI and data platform towards Snowflake and cloud-based architectures.Monitor scheduled data loads, report refreshes and data quality, implementing robust error handling, logging, alerting and recovery processes.Investigate and resolve discrepancies between operational systems, the data warehouse and reporting outputs, addressing root causes and implementing preventative fixes.Build data validation, reconciliation and quality-control checks into reporting and data-processing workflows.Identify and automate manual reporting and data-processing activities to improve accuracy, efficiency and timeliness.Partner directly with stakeholders to understand requirements and translate them into scalable, well-governed reporting and data solutions.Manage competing reporting requests and delivery priorities, communicating clearly on scope, timelines and trade-offs.Support and develop junior members of the BI team, setting high standards for technical quality, documentation, stakeholder management and delivery. Essential Technical Skills Strong SQL Server and T-SQL capability, including complex queries, stored procedures, temporary tables, query optimisation and troubleshooting.Strong Power BI experience, including Power Query, DAX, semantic modelling, data modelling and dashboard development.Strong understanding of data warehousing and dimensional modelling, including fact and dimension tables, star schemas and reporting-layer design.Experience developing, supporting and troubleshooting ETL/data-integration pipelines.Experience implementing data validation, error handling, logging and monitoring for data processes.Proven ability to investigate data issues across multiple systems, identify root causes and implement sustainable fixes.Strong data visualisation and dashboard-design skills, with the ability to turn data into clear commercial insight.Ability to communicate technical concepts clearly and confidently to non-technical stakeholders. Highly Desirable Experience with Snowflake, or strong experience with cloud data warehousing platforms such as BigQuery, Redshift or Microsoft Fabric.Experience optimising performance and cost efficiency within cloud data warehouse environments.Experience with QlikView, Qlik Sense and/or NPrinting.Experience with SSRS.Python experience for data extraction, transformation, automation and ETL development.Understanding of data governance, data quality, reporting standards, documentation and access controls.Experience working with APIs and third-party data integrations.Experience working with ecommerce and retail data in an omnichannel environment.
