About The Role We are seeking a highly experienced Senior DevOps Engineer to join our dynamic team at 7Seventy. In this pivotal role, you will take end-to-end ownership of our infrastructure, ensuring that our growing financial technology platform remains robust, secure, and compliant. Your expertise will be instrumental in enabling rapid, reliable software delivery through the development and maintenance of resilient build, test, and deployment pipelines. You will be responsible for designing reproducible Infrastructure as Code, implementing progressive rollout strategies, facilitating swift rollbacks, and maintaining comprehensive monitoring and alerting systems. Additionally, you will oversee incident response procedures, manage infrastructure costs, and uphold compliance standards such as SOC 2, ensuring our platform meets stringent regulatory requirements. This role offers an exciting opportunity to influence the foundation of our platform’s operational excellence and scalability, working closely with cross-functional teams to deliver secure, efficient, and compliant solutions. Qualifications The ideal candidate will possess over five years of experience in DevOps, Site Reliability Engineering (SRE), or Platform Engineering roles, preferably as an early or sole infrastructure hire within a high-growth environment. Deep hands-on expertise with AWS or other major cloud providers, combined with extensive experience in Infrastructure as Code, is essential. Candidates should demonstrate strong proficiency in building and maintaining CI/CD pipelines that facilitate efficient and dependable software deployment. A solid background in observability practices—including system instrumentation, defining Service Level Objectives (SLOs), and managing incident response—is required. Familiarity with operating in regulated environments, understanding compliance standards like SOC 2 and ISO 27001, and implementing change management, access controls, and audit logging are highly valued. An automation-first mindset, pragmatic infrastructure judgment, and the ability to distinguish immediate needs from strategic requirements are critical for success. Preferred qualifications include experience in fintech or banking sectors, supporting multi-tenant SaaS architectures, database operations, and security-focused infrastructure components such as secrets management and network segmentation. Responsibilities Own and optimize the build, test, and deployment pipelines to ensure rapid, safe software releases with features such as progressive rollouts and rapid rollbacks, fostering high confidence in deployment processes. Design, implement, and enforce fully reproducible infrastructure environments using Infrastructure as Code, ensuring consistency and auditability across development, staging, and production systems. Define, monitor, and meet uptime targets critical to our financial institution clients, ensuring contractual and regulatory commitments are consistently fulfilled. Enhance monitoring, alerting, and incident response capabilities to proactively identify and resolve production issues before they impact customers, minimizing downtime and operational risk. Develop and mature the on-call operational practice into a structured, repeatable process, improving reliability and incident management efficiency. Implement comprehensive change management protocols, access controls, and audit logging mechanisms to generate necessary compliance evidence, supporting SOC 2 and other regulatory standards. Collaborate closely with security teams to maintain and enhance SOC 2 compliance, supporting ongoing audits and security assessments. Manage infrastructure costs proactively by optimizing cloud resource utilization and implementing cost-effective automation strategies as the platform scales. Continuously improve infrastructure automation, security, and operational efficiency, aligning technical initiatives with business growth and regulatory requirements.
