DevOps Engineer

The Team We’re looking for a DevOps Engineer to join our Engineering team and help us build, automate and continuously improve the environments and processes that support the delivery of our software. As part of a collaborative Agile environment, you’ll work closely with Software Engineers and other technical colleagues to improve the way our applications are built, tested, deployed and supported. This is a great opportunity for someone with existing DevOps and cloud experience who wants to continue developing their skills while taking ownership of meaningful technical challenges. Your work will span the software delivery lifecycle, from CI/CD and environment automation through to monitoring, configuration, security and operational reliability. You’ll help us reduce manual processes, improve deployment efficiency and create consistent, repeatable approaches that make it easier for our engineering teams to deliver high-quality software. You Will Be Building, maintaining and improving CI/CD pipelines to support reliable and repeatable software delivery.Creating and supporting cloud-based environments across different stages of the software development lifecycle.Automating infrastructure, environment configuration and deployment processes to reduce manual effort and improve consistency.Working with Software Engineers to troubleshoot environment, deployment and infrastructure-related issues.Implementing and maintaining monitoring, alerting and health checks that help identify and resolve issues effectively.Supporting secure access to cloud environments and helping ensure appropriate security controls are followed.Managing application and environment configuration across multiple stages of delivery.Helping improve the reliability, efficiency and maintainability of our software delivery processes.Creating scripts and automation to support development and delivery teams.Investigating and resolving technical issues across development and cloud environments.Maintaining clear technical documentation, processes and operational runbooks.Contributing ideas and recommendations to improve our DevOps practices, tooling and ways of working.Keeping up to date with developments in cloud, automation and DevOps technologies and sharing what you learn with the wider team. You Will Bring Commercial experience working in a DevOps, Cloud Engineering, Platform Engineering or similar technical role.Hands-on experience supporting cloud-based applications and infrastructure.Practical experience building, maintaining or working with CI/CD pipelines.Experience using scripting or automation to improve deployment, infrastructure or operational processes.An understanding of modern software delivery practices, including continuous integration and continuous deployment.Experience working with infrastructure or application monitoring and alerting.An understanding of cloud security principles, including environment access and permissions.Experience working with database technologies such as SQL and/or NoSQL.Familiarity with containerisation technologies such as Docker.Experience with source control and collaborative software development practices.Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills, with the ability to investigate technical issues through to resolution.The ability to communicate clearly and work collaboratively with Software Engineers and other technical colleagues.An interest in automation and continuous improvement, with a desire to make engineering processes simpler, faster and more reliable.Curiosity about new technologies and a willingness to continue developing your DevOps and cloud engineering expertise.
