AI Agent Developer / AI Enablement Specialist Permanent | £40,000–£50,000 + Car Allowance + Bonus + Benefits | 90% Remote | UK Community Partners is supporting a FTSE 250 organisation to appoint an AI Agent Developer / AI Enablement Specialist into its Technology and Transformation function. This is a hands-on role for someone with practical experience building and deploying Microsoft Copilot and AI agent solutions within a business environment. We are not looking for an AI researcher, pure software developer or senior AI architect. We are looking for someone who understands how to take real business requirements and turn them into practical, secure and supportable AI solutions. You’ll join an established Solutions team and play an important role in growing the organisation’s enterprise AI capability, helping to design and deploy agents while also establishing the standards, governance, documentation and processes needed to scale their use across the business. The role is approximately 90% remote, with occasional travel to the organisation’s West Midlands HQ and other business locations when required. The Role Working across Technology and Transformation, you will help design, build, deploy and maintain Microsoft Copilot and AI agents that improve business processes and enable teams across the organisation. Alongside hands-on delivery, you’ll help establish a consistent approach to AI agent development, from initial requirements and design through to testing, deployment, governance, monitoring and ongoing support. You’ll work directly with business stakeholders, solution architects, developers, business analysts and subject matter experts, so this role requires someone equally comfortable discussing requirements with non-technical colleagues and getting hands-on with the technology. Key Responsibilities Design, configure, build and deploy AI agents using Microsoft Copilot Studio and related Microsoft technologies.Work directly with business stakeholders to understand requirements and translate business challenges into practical AI solutions.Support the development of a scalable, secure and supportable enterprise AI agent capability.Produce and maintain high-quality solution documentation, design standards, reusable templates and supporting materials.Help establish the AI agent development lifecycle covering design, development, testing, deployment, support and continuous improvement.Contribute to the development of governance, quality standards and appropriate controls for AI agents.Monitor agent performance, adoption, usage and operational costs, identifying opportunities for optimisation and improvement.Provide ongoing support and continuous improvement for deployed agents.Assist with demonstrations, knowledge-sharing sessions and training to increase the adoption and effective use of AI across the organisation.Work collaboratively with solution architects, developers, business analysts, operational teams and subject matter experts across the wider business.Help create repeatable approaches that allow successful AI solutions to be deployed and supported at scale. Essential Skills & Experience We are particularly interested in candidates who can demonstrate: Practical experience building, configuring, deploying or supporting AI agents, copilots, chatbots or intelligent automation solutions.Hands-on experience with Microsoft Copilot Studio.Experience working with Microsoft 365 and relevant Azure services.A good understanding of prompt engineering and conversational design principles.Experience taking solutions through practical development, testing and deployment rather than working solely at a conceptual or strategy level.The ability to work directly with non-technical stakeholders to understand problems, gather requirements and translate them into workable solutions.Strong documentation skills with experience producing clear technical and user-facing materials.Experience working within structured delivery methodologies and governance processes.Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.The ability to manage multiple initiatives and priorities simultaneously.Strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills. About You This role is likely to suit an early-to-mid career AI professional who already has genuine hands-on delivery experience and now wants to develop within a large enterprise environment. You’ll be naturally curious about AI and emerging technology, but equally interested in making it work effectively in the real world. You should be comfortable operating in a fast-changing technology landscape and able to balance hands-on technical delivery with stakeholder engagement, governance and documentation. Importantly, we’re looking for someone interested in helping to shape and mature an enterprise AI capability, rather than simply building individual agents and moving on to the next project. What Success Looks Like Success in this role will mean: AI agents are delivered reliably and successfully adopted by business users.A consistent set of standards, templates and documentation is established.Agent development and deployment becomes repeatable, supportable and scalable.AI usage, governance, security and cost management are appropriately controlled.Existing agents continue to improve through monitoring and feedback.Business users become increasingly confident in identifying, requesting and using AI-enabled solutions.
