CAE Training Instructor and Developer

Job Description Job Summary The PLM Systems Training team is seeking a technically strong and customer‑focused NX CAD/CAE Instructor / Developer to support global engineering and manufacturing organizations. This role is responsible for delivering hands‑on instructor‑led and virtual training, developing high‑quality technical courseware and training material, and serving as a subject matter expert (SME) for PLM Systems Software with an emphasis on Computer Aided Engineering applications and functionality. The ideal candidate brings deep experience with Siemens NX, Teamcenter, Active Workspace, Altair software applications and related CAE tools, and combines technical expertise with strong communication and instructional skills. Key Responsibilities Deliver instructor‑led and virtual training for global learners using established and evolving PLM Systems curriculumDevelop and maintain training materials, including course documentation, hands on interactive exercises, demonstrations, videos, and job aidsAnalyze new and existing Designcenter NX CAE software functionality and translate it into effective learning contentMaintain training content alignment with current and future production software releasesRecord and produce software demonstrations and learning videos using standard authoring toolsServe as a subject matter expert for NX, Teamcenter, Active Workspace, and related PLM processesCollaborate with business and software application owners to understand release changes and training impactsContinuously learn and validate new tools, functionality, and best practices Required Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent technical experience5+ years of CAD/CAE experience in automotive product development5+ years of combined experience with NX, Altair software, Teamcenter, and/or Teamcenter VisualizationSubject matter expertise in two or more of the following:Siemens NX CAD/CAE applications and functionalityTeamcenter / Active WorkspaceCAE tools (e.g., FEA, SimSolid, Mold Flow, Topology Optimization, Ansys, Hypermesh)Strong presentation and instructor‑led training skillsExperience with AI platforms Glean, CoPilot and the ability to create and implement agents, bots, and expedite task resolution with technical skill prompting expertiseExecute and adapt to dynamic multi-role task environmentsExperience developing technical training materials and learning contentProficiency with Microsoft Office and common learning tools (e.g., Articulate Storyline, Camtasia, Snagit)Strong communication, organization, and problem‑solving skillsAbility to manage multiple priorities and roles in a fast‑paced, technical environment Preferred Qualifications Senior Designer backgroundExperience as an Instructor, Developer, software tester, or Mentor for PLM Systems softwareExperience with Articulate Storyline, Camtasia, or similar content‑authoring toolsDesign for Six Sigma (DFSS) or Black Belt experienceBackground developing enterprise technical training programs GM does not provide immigration-related sponsorship for this role.
