Software Engineer

We're hiring on behalf of a Haystack partner! The Role • Provide technical leadership for a software team, guiding implementation and making sound engineering decisions. • Drive delivery of Java-based backend services and APIs within a secure, highly available environment. • Ensure adherence to established code review standards and quality gates throughout the project lifecycle. • Guide system design by analyzing information needs and translating them into practical implementation approaches. • Oversee the build and deployment pipeline, ensuring CI/CD processes and security scanning requirements are met. • Mentor and support other engineers, contributing to the team's technical capability. What You'll Need • Extensive software engineering experience, including hands-on delivery using Java (versions 8, 17, 21) and API design. • Proven experience as a technical leader, including decision-making, mentoring, and stakeholder engagement. • Strong understanding of design patterns and structured software development approaches. • Familiarity with relational databases (PostgreSQL), SQL, and JDBC. • Demonstrated experience writing unit and integration tests as a standard part of delivery. • Familiarity with Agile software development processes and CI/CD concepts.
