🔥 Fire Alarm Engineer – Commissioning, Service & Fault Finding 📍 London & surrounding areas 💷 £35,000–£48,000 per year, depending on experience 🚆 Travelcard provided for engineers who do not drive 🎂 28 days' holiday including bank holidays + an additional day off for your birthday 💰 Performance bonus + additional incentives for exceptional achievement 🛂 Right to Work sponsorship may be available for the right candidate Infinity is looking for an experienced Fire Alarm Engineers to join our growing team. We are looking for an engineer with strong technical knowledge who is confident working independently on fire alarm systems across London. This is not purely a routine servicing position. A key part of the role will be commissioning, fault-finding and resolving technical issues, so we're looking for someone who understands fire alarm systems properly and can approach faults logically and methodically. Installation experience would be a significant advantage. What you'll be doing• Commissioning fire detection and alarm systems in accordance with BS 5839-1 and project requirements • Carrying out servicing, preventative maintenance and system inspections • Diagnosing and rectifying faults on a range of conventional and addressable fire alarm systems • Completing modifications, small works and system upgrades • Carrying out installation work where required • Testing systems and identifying non-compliances or defects • Completing accurate service, commissioning and fault reports • Liaising professionally with customers, site teams and other contractors • Working independently and managing your workload effectively • Participating in our engineer call-out rota, normally at least once per month • Maintaining a high standard of workmanship and representing Infinity professionally on every site What we're looking forEssential: • Strong working knowledge of BS 5839-1 • Approximately 3–5 years' experience working with fire detection and alarm systems • Proven experience in fire alarm commissioning • Strong fault-finding and diagnostic ability • Experience servicing and maintaining fire alarm systems • Ability to work independently and make sound technical decisions on site • Good organisational and communication skills • Ability to produce clear and accurate documentation • Must live in or around London and be able to travel to sites across the London area • Willingness to participate in the call-out rota Desirable: • Fire alarm installation experience • FIA training/qualifications • ECS/CSCS or relevant industry competency card • IPAF • Experience across multiple manufacturers and fire alarm platforms • Full UK driving licence What does success look like at Infinity?You'll be the engineer customers and colleagues can rely on when a system needs more than a basic service visit. You'll be able to arrive on site, understand the system, identify faults, commission work correctly, explain technical issues clearly and leave the system and documentation to a professional standard. We're particularly interested in engineers who take pride in understanding why something isn't working rather than simply replacing components until the fault disappears.
