Network Infrastructure Engineer
Location: 500 Clinton Center Drive Clinton, Mississippi - 39056
Work Arrangement: 100% Onsite – Remote candidates will not be considered
Contract Duration: Through March 31, 2027
Schedule: Friday, 8:00 AM–5:00 PM
Position Overview: We are seeking an experienced Network Infrastructure Engineer to support and advance an enterprise-scale network environment for the Mississippi Department of Revenue.
The ideal candidate will have extensive hands-on experience with Cisco networking, Cisco ACI, Cisco Nexus, Software-Defined Access (SDA), Cisco ISE, and enterprise network security.
This role is highly technical and hands-on, supporting mission-critical data center and statewide network infrastructure.
Key Responsibilities:
Design, implement, and maintain Cisco ACI/Nexus data center networks, including VRFs, BDs, EPGs/ESGs, L3Outs, and contracts.Deploy and support Cisco Catalyst and SDA wired/wireless environments.Administer Cisco ISE, including TACACS+, NAC, authentication/authorization, and endpoint profiling.Manage network visibility and monitoring using Thousand Eyes, Cyber Vision, and DNA Spaces.Configure and troubleshoot Palo Alto firewalls and enterprise network security solutions.Troubleshoot complex L2/L3 networking, including TCP/IP, VLANs, OSPF, BGP, STP, multicast, and QoS.Support ACI integrations with OpenShift VMM and Cilium/Isovalent.Develop network architecture diagrams, documentation, standards, and operational procedures.Support network modernization, upgrades, and mission-critical enterprise infrastructure.
Required Qualifications:
Candidates must meet the following minimum requirements:
15+ years of professional experience working with Cisco networking technologies.Hands-on production experience with Cisco ACI.Strong knowledge of Cisco ACI constructs including VRF, Bridge Domain (BD), EPG / ESG, L3Out, Contracts, Fabric policies.Experience integrating ACI with OpenShift VMM and Cilium/Isovalent.Strong experience with Cisco Catalyst and SDA technologies.Hands-on experience administering Cisco ISE, including TACACS+, authentication/authorization policy sets, and NAC.Experience with enterprise network monitoring/observability tools such as Thousand Eyes, Cyber Vision, and DNA Spaces, or comparable platforms.Strong knowledge of TCP/IP, routing, switching, QoS, VLANs, OSPF, BGP, STP, and multicast.Experience with Palo Alto Networks firewalls and enterprise security solutions.Ability to troubleshoot complex enterprise network issues.Strong technical documentation and communication skills.Experience supporting large-scale, highly available, mission-critical network environments.
Preferred Qualifications:
CCNP Data Center, CCNP Enterprise, CCIE, or equivalent experience.Cisco Specialist certifications in ACI, SDA, or ISE.PCNSA or PCNSE certification.Experience with container networking and virtualization platforms.Experience with network automation using Python, Ansible, or REST APIs.Familiarity with NIST frameworks and cybersecurity requirements.Experience working in state government or large enterprise environments.Palo Alto certifications such as PCCSA or PCNSA.ThousandEyes, Cyber Vision, or related platform training.
