Its Ad Tech & Media practice focuses on supporting advertising organizations by modernizing and operating systems that manage revenue streams, including linear, addressable, programmatic, AVOD/FAST, and CTV ad delivery. The company provides solutions across ad decisioning, order management, traffic and billing, data integration, and reporting throughout the order-to-cash lifecycle. 2. About the Opportunity: The Senior Backend Software Engineer (Java/Node.JS) role supports backend and microservice development, working on REST APIs and distributed systems in a cloud-native, containerized environment. This position requires cross-functional collaboration to ensure effective system operation and development. The role is critical for maintaining and enhancing backend services that power the organization's advertising technology products. 3. Responsibilities: Design, develop, and maintain backend services and REST APIs using Java, Spring Framework/Spring Boot, and Node.jsBuild and support containerized microservices deployed on AWS, including Kubernetes/EKS environmentsApply asynchronous, reactive, or functional programming patterns across Java and JavaScript codebasesTroubleshoot complex backend and distributed-system issues, perform root-cause analysis, and drive fixes to resolutionWork with Infrastructure as Code tools (preferably Terraform) and CI/CD pipelines (GitHub Actions, Concourse, Jenkins, or similar)Design and implement integrations with SQL and NoSQL databasesParticipate in code reviews, sprint planning, technical discussions, and troubleshooting sessionsProactively identify and escalate blockers, risks, and dependenciesTake ownership of production issues, coordinating resolution across internal and partner teamsCommunicate technical issues, risks, and solutions clearly to both technical and non-technical stakeholders 4. Requirements: Strong hands-on Java experience with Spring Framework/Spring BootExperience designing REST APIs and backend microservicesSolid understanding of OOP, software design principles, and backend architectureFamiliarity with asynchronous, reactive, or functional programmingProficiency in troubleshooting complex backend and distributed-system issuesHands-on Node.js backend experience, including asynchronous patterns and frameworks like Express.jsComfortable working across both Java and Node.js codebasesStrong experience with AWS or comparable cloud platformsExperience with containerized applications and Kubernetes (EKS preferred)Familiarity with Terraform/IaC and CI/CD tools (GitHub Actions, Jenkins, or similar)Comfortable working in Linux environmentsStrong grounding in data structures, algorithms, concurrency, distributed systems, system design, JVM and memory management, and database fundamentals (SQL and NoSQL)Effective communication skills across engineering, product, and cross-team stakeholdersProactive in surfacing blockers and risksAbility to own issues end-to-end, including production incidents, with minimal supervision 5. Pay Range and Compensation Package: The annual base salary range is $80,000 to $100,000, paid based on experience and skills.
