The Staff Software Engineer, Maps Services is responsible for setting the technical direction of the geospatial platform that supports multiple products relying on location data.
This role involves building and scaling systems for map data ingestion, processing, and API development to enable accurate and reliable location-aware features.
The position contributes foundational infrastructure that impacts a wide range of teams and products within the organization.

Responsibilities:
Guide the technical strategy of the Maps teamDevelop geospatial systems and integrations foundational to various productsScale platform solutions to handle real-time data storage, query, and computationConsolidate geospatial solutions for broader platform-wide useCreate self-service tools for customers to access and customize dataElevate technical standards through code reviews, design input, and mentorshipCollaborate with engineering leadership on strategic technical decisionsRepresent the organization externally in relevant forums and communities

Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent experienceOver 8 years of software development experience including at least 2 years in a technical leadership or architect roleStrong programming and design skillsMinimum 4 years working with large-scale distributed systemsMinimum 4 years leading technical projects involving multiple teams

Pay Range and Compensation Package:
Annual base salary range: $162,400 to $290,000 USDEligible for initial RSU grant with no vesting cliff and ongoing refresh opportunities based on performanceCompensation includes base salary, performance-based bonuses, and equity components
