About the Opportunity: The Sr Backend Engineer, Flag Delivery is responsible for owning and advancing the critical systems that stream feature-flag configurations to connected SDKs worldwide in near real time. This role ensures these systems remain reliable, low-latency, and scalable, directly impacting customers'' ability to control their software features effectively. The position contributes to developing the next-generation architecture, enhancing streaming rollouts, and strengthening system reliability and scalability. 3. Responsibilities: Design, build, and maintain distributed systems delivering feature-flag configurations to SDKs.Enhance reliability, latency, and scalability of streaming and polling infrastructure.Debug and resolve complex production issues; participate in on-call rotations.Collaborate with SDK, Core Product, and Data Platform teams regarding feature flag delivery.Write maintainable, well-tested code; engage in code and design reviews.Guide architectural decisions balancing performance, cost, and operability.Improve observability, deployment safety, and operational processes related to flag delivery. 4. Requirements: Over 6 years of professional backend engineering experience, especially with distributed or high-throughput systems.Proven experience designing, operating, and debugging reliable, low-latency services.Strong production ownership mindset, including on-call experience and focus on reliability and observability.Proficiency in at least one backend language such as Go, Rust, or Python; experience with cloud platforms like AWS.Hands-on experience with infrastructure-as-code tools (Terraform or equivalent) and observability tools (Datadog, Prometheus, New Relic).Deep understanding of distributed systems concepts including concurrency, partitioning, retries, idempotency, backpressure, and failure handling.Ability to write clean, maintainable code and collaborate effectively on technical designs.Clear communication skills and high standards for operational excellence. 5. Pay Range and Compensation Package: Zone 1: San Francisco/Bay Area or NYC Metropolitan Area, Boston, Seattle - $191,800 - 263,670Zone 2: Irvine, LA, Monterey, Santa Barbara, Santa Rosa, Austin, Portland, Philadelphia, Chicago - $172,600 - $237,270Zone 3: All other US locations - $163,000 - $224,070 Restricted Stock Units, health, vision, and dental insurance, and mental health benefits are included in addition to salary.
