Machine Learning Engineer

AI/ML ENGINEER Cambridge / Hybrid (UK only) 6-month contract | PAYE Rates, Negotiable An exciting opportunity for a versatile AI/ML & Systems Engineer to lead the architecture, machine learning development and cloud integration of a prototype asset monitoring and risk prediction platform. You'll bridge the gap between complex time-series telemetry, geospatial data feeds and predictive domain models, building the data and ML pipelines, integrating multi-source sensor streams, and developing real-time visualisation that turns raw data into actionable structural safety insights. This is a genuine end-to-end ownership role on a high-value prototype, from multi-modal data and distribution modelling through to interactive, real-time dashboards. Must-have Probabilistic Time Series Forecasting: Hands-on experience with probabilistic methods (e.g. Bayesian approaches, PyMC, Amazon DeepAR), ideally applied to small or scarce datasets for distribution predictionData Pipelines & Database Architecture: Proven ability to build scalable pipelines using Python, PostgreSQL (with PostGIS for spatial data), Redis or time-series databasesAgile Delivery: A track record of working in sprint-based environments to hit demanding technical milestones At least one of the following: Vibration Analysis / DSP: Experience with vibration analysis, digital signal or waveform processingPhysics-Informed Models: Experience combining data-driven sequence modelling with physical laws Good-to-have Frontend visualisation frameworks (React, Grafana or Plotly/Dash) for real-time data, geospatial heatmaps and analytical dashboardsCloud platforms (AWS, Azure or GCP) and Docker for containerising ML applications and microservicesAPI and middleware development: RESTful APIs and WebSocket pipelines (FastAPI, Flask) for low-latency data streaming and alert triggersVersion control and CI/CD: Git, GitHub Actions or GitLab CI for automated testing and systematic releases Interested?
