Description: About The Role As a Senior Cloud Engineer, you will play a key role in maintaining and evolving Housing Australia’s cloud and infrastructure environment, with a strong focus on Microsoft Azure. You will be responsible for ensuring the reliability, security, scalability and performance of critical cloud and on-premise platforms, while driving automation, operational excellence and cost optimisation. Working closely with security, platform and operations teams, you will support the foundational infrastructure that underpins enterprise applications, integrations and emerging technologies, including AI-enabled services, ensuring environments remain resilient, compliant and aligned with organisational governance and architecture standards. Key responsibilities Manage and optimise Azure cloud and hybrid infrastructure, ensuring high availability, performance, scalability and cost efficiency. Develop and maintain infrastructure-as-code and automation solutions to streamline provisioning, configuration management and operational support. Implement and maintain security, backup, disaster recovery and compliance controls in line with government and industry standards. Monitor infrastructure health, resolve complex incidents, and provide Level 3 technical support while driving continuous service improvements. Provide technical guidance on cloud architecture, modernisation initiatives and emerging technologies, including AI-enabled services and Microsoft Azure innovations. Skills and Experiences: Skills And Experience Must have experience managing and optimising Microsoft Azure cloud and hybrid infrastructure environments. Strong expertise in cloud networking, infrastructure automation, and Infrastructure-as-Code using tools such as Terraform, Bicep and PowerShell. Hands-on experience implementing security, backup, disaster recovery and compliance controls within regulated environments. Strong knowledge of monitoring, observability and incident management, including Azure Monitor, Log Analytics and Sentinel. Experience supporting modern data platforms and AI-enabled workloads, with excellent analytical, problem-solving and stakeholder engagement skills.
