Staff DevOps Engineer, Infrastructure as Code

For our client, we are seeking a Staff DevOps Engineer, IaC to join the team of a leader in the Enterprise Technology space. This role will shape the company’s infrastructure as code and delivery practices across engineering teams, with a strong emphasis on scalable Terraform architecture and deployment automation. You will help modernize release engineering, strengthen compliance and security controls, and support safe, repeatable production rollouts. The position also partners closely with engineering stakeholders to document standards, enable adoption, and improve operational reliability across the environment. Location: Remote - US based candidates only, no visa sponsorship available Compensation: $180,000 – $240,000 annually Responsibilities Design and enhance continuous delivery and release pipelines from artifact promotion through production Lead the strategy and architecture for Terraform so it scales effectively across teams Implement automated compliance and security policies within the Terraform pipeline Collaborate with engineering teams to migrate existing infrastructure to the new Terraform architecture, including documentation and training Design and deploy secure infrastructure in AWS using Terraform, with future multi-cloud expansion in mind Monitor deployment pipelines and production support activities, serving as a technical escalation point Mentor engineers in deployment safety, Terraform best practices, and infrastructure as code Qualifications 10+ years of cloud DevOps experience, primarily in AWS, with a focus on release engineering and deployment automation Proven multi-cloud experience with hands-on production work in both Azure and GCP 4+ years of practical Terraform experience, including module authoring and remote state management Strong understanding of Continuous Delivery (CD) and progressive rollout strategies, including rollback automation Demonstrated enterprise-scale experience in Terraform architecture, including remote state design and governance policies Benefits Flexible remote work options available in designated US states Opportunity to work in a hybrid environment, with physical offices in Austin, TX and Tampa, FL A high-ownership role allowing significant input into deployment and infrastructure strategy Mentorship opportunities, allowing personal and professional development within a dynamic team Our client is an equal opportunity employer.
