Senior Mechanical Engineer, Leading Multi-Disciplinary Design Firm, New York, NY
Salary: $130,000 – $185,000 + 5-15% bonus + benefits | Permanent, full-time | Midtown Manhattan (hybrid)
Our client is an established architecture, engineering and interiors firm with more than 35 years in the industry and offices in New York City and the Northeast.
Their mechanical team works on a mix of sectors: healthcare, life sciences, higher education and K-12, mission critical, commercial, retail and residential.
Their clients include Fortune 500 companies, global tech giants, major hospital systems and well-known retail brands.
They're hiring a Senior Mechanical Engineer in their Manhattan office.
You'd lead the HVAC design on projects and work closely with in-house architects, electrical and plumbing engineers, and interior designers.
Because the whole design team sits in one firm, you won't be one consultant among many on a project.
What you'll do
Lead HVAC design from concept through construction documents: load calcs, equipment selection, air and water systems, controls sequences and specificationsRun mechanical scope, fee and schedule on your projects, and be the day-to-day technical contact for clientsCoordinate with architecture, electrical, plumbing and fire protection in RevitMentor and QC junior engineers and designersHandle construction administration: submittals, RFIs, site visits and punch listsDesign to NYC Mechanical Code, ASHRAE 62.1/90.1, NYC Energy Code and Local Law 97
What you'll bring
BS in Mechanical Engineering8–15 years of consulting MEP design experienceStrong Revit skills; Trane TRACE, Carrier HAP or IES a plusExperience in at least one of healthcare, lab/life sciences, higher ed or mission criticalComfortable leading projects and presenting to clientsNYC project experience and familiarity with the DOB process strongly preferred
