Role: Release Train Engineer

Job Description:
Own and manage the end-to-end Release Management lifecycle, ensuring predictable, high-quality, and timely releases across environments.Define, implement, and continuously improve Release Management processes, tools, standards, and best practices.Identify opportunities to optimize release processes, including reducing release cycle time, improving release success rates, and minimizing rollbacks.Coordinate closely with Development, QA, DevOps, and SRE teams to plan, schedule, and execute releases.Ensure effective release readiness, risk assessment, dependency management, and go/no-go decision support.Lead and mentor release and deployment engineers, providing guidance on tools, processes, and operational excellence.Participate in Agile/Scrum ceremonies and ensure release activities align with sprint, program, and delivery milestones.Drive clear and effective stakeholder communication through release status updates, release notes, dashboards, and post-release reviews.Identify and proactively address release risks, blockers, and cross-team dependencies.Support audit, compliance, governance, and change-management activities related to software releases.Promote continuous improvement by analyzing release metrics, identifying process gaps, and implementing corrective actions.
Required Qualifications & Skills
IT experience, with significant experience in Release Management, Environment Management, Change Management, or Release Coordination.Strong understanding of Release Management processes, methodologies, tools, and industry best practices.Hands-on experience working within Agile/Scrum delivery environments.Proven ability to collaborate effectively with Development, QA, DevOps, and SRE teams.Experience leading, mentoring, or providing technical guidance to release or deployment engineers.Strong understanding of CI/CD, deployment processes, environment management, and release automation.Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to effectively engage technical teams and senior stakeholders.Strong organizational, coordination, problem-solving, and risk-management skills.Ability to manage multiple releases, priorities, dependencies, and stakeholders in a fast-paced environment.Ability to operate effectively at a managerial or solution-architecture level while remaining hands-on when required.
Preferred Skills
Experience with enterprise-scale release and deployment processes.Familiarity with release orchestration, CI/CD, DevOps, and cloud-based delivery environments.Experience with release metrics, dashboards, and continuous improvement initiatives.Familiarity with SAFe or other scaled Agile frameworks.Experience supporting audit, compliance, and technology governance requirements.
