Job Title: IAM Engineer – Python Developer
Location: Glasgow
Job Description:
Hands-on experience with Python development, including building automation, utilities, APIs/integrations, data processing, troubleshooting, and production-quality scripts.Experience supporting IAM/Directory Services platforms, preferably PingDS (ForgeRock DS), including migration, upgrade, configuration, deployment, and production support.Experience with PingDS plugins/extensions or custom integrations is a plus; ability to understand and work with existing Java-based PingDS components is desirable.Working knowledge of Linux/RHEL, including filesystem, permissions, processes, services, networking fundamentals, log analysis, and performance troubleshooting.Strong scripting and automation skills using Python and Bash/Shell, particularly for migration, deployment, reconciliation, validation, monitoring, and operational tasks.Familiarity with LDAP/LDAPS, directory services concepts, replication, schemas, certificates/TLS, REST APIs, JSON, and IAM security fundamentals.Experience with modern engineering practices and tools such as Git, CI/CD pipelines, Python package management, testing frameworks, code reviews, and secure coding practices.Basic understanding of AI/GenAI concepts and practical experience using AI-assisted coding tools (e.g., GitHub Copilot, ChatGPT or equivalent) for development, scripting, testing, documentation, and troubleshooting, with appropriate validation and secure-use practices.C/C++ experience will be a plus.
