Senior Mechanical Design Engineer | Wearable Medical Device | San Mateo, CA We're working with a fast-growing medical device company building wearable neuromodulation technology, already FDA-cleared and treating patients today, now expanding into new therapeutic areas. They're hiring a Senior Mechanical Design Engineer to lead mechanical design of their next-generation wearable platform. This is a hands-on role for someone who loves the challenge of making a medical device look and feel like premium consumer hardware. What you'll do: Own mechanical design of small, body-worn plastic components from concept through productionPartner closely with industrial design to nail surface finish, texture and overall aestheticLead design for manufacturing across injection molding and contract manufacturing partnersSupport early clinical studies with rapid prototyping and iterationBuild design control documentation as the device matures toward next FDA submission What you'll bring: 4+ years mechanical design experience with SolidWorksDirect experience designing cosmetic, high volume plastic parts for wearable or handheld consumer productsComfort working alongside industrial designers and understanding why finish and texture matterExposure to medical device development a plus, full training providedBased in the Bay Area, able to be onsite Mondays and Thursdays minimum Why this role: Growth into a senior technical leadership track, not a ceiling roleSmall team, high autonomyWork on a platform expanding into multiple new disease areas Please apply directly if of interest!
