About Our Digital Transformation We are modernising the applications and systems that support our operations, with C#, .NET and Azure at the heart of our software environment and Microsoft Fabric supporting our data foundation. You will contribute to a varied portfolio of digital products addressing operational and business challenges across the organisation. For example, we are building applications that help teams understand and improve workshop workflows, from welcoming a vehicle and organising maintenance to following work through to completion. We are also developing tools to analyse kilometres travelled without passengers, combining vehicle telemetry, reconciliation of planned and actual journeys, calculation logic and clear user interfaces to help teams investigate differences and identify potential savings. These are two examples among a broader and evolving portfolio. Our products can combine operational workflows, user-facing applications, system integrations and live or frequently updated vehicle data. This can include location, energy consumption, vehicle condition and other telemetry generated by a connected fleet. The work offers opportunities to solve problems across several technical dimensions and different areas of the business. About Your Role You will design, build and improve digital products across the full stack, from user interfaces to backend services, APIs and application databases. Your work will include developing features used directly by operational teams, connecting existing systems and improving the reliability and usability of our applications. You will also contribute to the shared technical foundations behind these products. This may include reusable services, integration patterns and common components that make future applications easier to build, connect and maintain. The role combines visible product development with deeper engineering work that can benefit several solutions across the organisation. Understanding the business problem is part of the job. Working with Product Owners, Business Analysts and operational colleagues, you will explore how people work, clarify requirements and help shape practical solutions. You will consider how a change affects the wider workflow, its users and the systems around it, looking for the simplest approach that addresses the underlying need. You will take ownership of agreed work through development, testing, deployment and production follow-up, with responsibilities suited to your experience. Our Tech Lead and colleagues will support you through code reviews, pairing and regular technical discussions. You will have access to approved AI tools to support development, learning and exploration. We encourage you to think carefully about what can be delegated to AI, where human judgement is needed and how to verify the results. You remain responsible for understanding and testing what you deliver. About You You approach problems with curiosity and initiative. You want to understand why something is needed and are willing to investigate, ask questions and suggest options when requirements leave room for interpretation. You can move work forward independently while recognising when to seek guidance or validate an assumption. You listen actively and take other people’s perspectives seriously. You communicate progress and difficulties openly, and enjoy sharing knowledge and helping colleagues. You have hands-on experience building applications with C# and .NET. You are familiar with web interfaces, APIs, SQL and application databases, Git, testing and debugging, and care about building software that is secure, maintainable and reliable. Hands-on Azure experience is required. Familiarity with a modern frontend framework, Azure DevOps and CI/CD practices would be useful. We welcome earlier-career candidates who meet the core C#, .NET and Azure requirements and demonstrate sound foundations, thoughtful problem-solving and a willingness to learn. You do not need to know every technology on day one. We want to understand how you think, work with others and develop your skills. English is required. French and German are welcome advantages, but neither is required. Success in This Role Within your first year, you will have contributed useful and reliable features to our operational products and developed a strong understanding of the workflows they support. Your work will help users complete tasks more easily, understand operational issues and make better-informed decisions. You will have contributed to both user-facing applications and the shared foundations behind them. You will identify gaps before they become problems, explain your technical choices and help the team find solutions that make sense across the wider system. You will grow into greater technical ownership at a pace suited to your experience, contribute constructively to team discussions and build trust through dependable delivery, curiosity and collaboration.
