Senior Software Engineering Practitioner

Role Purpose Embed modern engineering practices into product squads through live delivery work - refactoring, unit testing, peer review and maintainability - not classroom training. Key Responsibilities Work embedded in priority squads on live backlog items, modelling modern engineering practice.Lead by example on refactoring, unit test adoption, peer review and maintainability.Pair and mob with client engineers to build durable internal capability.Contribute reusable examples, patterns and playbook content from real squad work.Evidence adoption through code quality metrics, test coverage and standards uptake.Support independence tests confirming squads can sustain practices unaided. Essential Skills & Experience Strong software engineering fundamentals with 7+ years commercial experience.Experience modernising legacy systems incrementally.C++ where applicable; C#, Java, Python, SQL and scripting capability.Automated test integration, code quality tooling and peer review workflows.Demonstrable coaching of product squads through live delivery. Desirable Real-time, event-driven, high-volume or resilience-critical systems.Market data or distribution environments.AI-assisted engineering workflows.
