About The Role We are looking for a highly skilled Backend Developer with a strong passion for shaping AI-driven solutions and influencing technological strategies. In this role, you will go beyond routine maintenance and actively participate in designing and developing scalable backend systems. Your extensive experience will enable you to make critical decisions related to software architecture, API design, data modeling, and system integrations. A key aspect of this position involves leveraging modern AI coding tools such as Codex, Claude Code, GitHub Copilot, or similar agents to enhance productivity, code quality, and development efficiency. You will be responsible for creating innovative AI-supported applications, integrating external systems, and collaborating closely with product managers, domain experts, and fellow developers to transform technological possibilities into practical, deployable solutions. This role offers a unique opportunity to embed AI coding tools into daily workflows, enabling faster, more secure, and high-quality software delivery while maintaining rigorous standards of security and maintainability. Qualifications The ideal candidate will have between 7 to 10 years of professional experience in backend development, demonstrating a solid understanding of software architecture, API design, database management, and automated testing. Proven expertise in at least one backend technology such as Python, Java, C#, TypeScript, or Node.js is essential. Candidates should possess a thorough knowledge of version control systems like Git and CI/CD workflows. Experience working with AI coding agents such as Codex, Claude Code, or GitHub Copilot, including prompt engineering, context management, and quality assurance of AI-generated code, is highly desirable. Strong ownership mentality, excellent collaboration skills, and the ability to transfer knowledge effectively are crucial. Proficiency in German is required, along with good English skills, to facilitate seamless communication within our diverse team environment. Responsibilities Your responsibilities will include designing and implementing complex backend solutions from initial concept through to deployment in production environments. You will take ownership of software architecture, define API specifications, data models, and ensure seamless system integrations. A significant aspect of your role involves utilizing AI coding tools effectively for implementation, refactoring, testing, and troubleshooting tasks. You will critically evaluate AI-generated code for quality, security, and maintainability, ensuring compliance with industry standards. Collaboration with product teams, domain experts, and fellow developers is essential to develop AI-enabled applications and services, including integrating large language model (LLM) APIs and external systems. You will contribute to establishing and maintaining best practices, development standards, and technological innovations within the team.
