About The Role We are seeking a highly skilled Azure Engineer to join our dynamic team. In this role, you will lead the design, development, and deployment of cloud-native, full-stack applications on Microsoft Azure, with a primary focus on Azure Kubernetes Service (AKS). You will be responsible for shaping technical strategies, establishing engineering standards, and ensuring our solutions are secure, resilient, observable, and easy to operate in production environments. This position offers an exciting opportunity to work on cutting-edge cloud technologies, influence architectural decisions, and mentor fellow engineers. The ideal candidate will possess a strong hands-on background in software engineering, cloud infrastructure, and DevSecOps practices, along with excellent collaboration and communication skills. Qualifications The ideal candidate will have significant experience in senior or lead engineering roles, with a proven track record of delivering and maintaining production systems. Strong expertise in Java, including Spring Boot, REST API development, and performance tuning, is essential. Hands-on experience with Python, particularly using FastAPI or Flask, is also required. Candidates should have a solid background in front-end development using React with TypeScript, modern hooks, and comprehensive testing strategies. Practical knowledge of deploying and managing workloads on Azure Kubernetes Service (AKS), including containerization with Docker, deployment strategies, and scaling, is crucial. Familiarity with Azure DevOps for CI/CD pipeline creation, security best practices, and infrastructure as code tools such as Terraform or Bicep is highly desirable. Additional qualifications include experience with Azure services like ACR, Key Vault, Application Insights, and network security configurations, along with a good understanding of security, reliability, and operational excellence in enterprise environments. Responsibilities Lead the end-to-end delivery of full-stack applications, including React (TypeScript) front-end interfaces and Java/Python back-end services, encompassing microservices and APIs.Design and implement cloud-native solutions on AKS, defining service boundaries, resilience patterns, deployment approaches, and operational strategies to ensure high availability and scalability.Develop and maintain back-end services using Java (Spring Boot) and Python (FastAPI/Flask), focusing on API design, performance optimization, and security controls.Create modern, accessible user interfaces with React, emphasizing reusable components, efficient state management, and user experience best practices.Manage Kubernetes deployments on AKS, including configuration of manifests, ingress, autoscaling, secrets, and service-to-service communication, along with rollout and rollback procedures.Implement DevSecOps practices by developing CI/CD pipelines with Azure DevOps, integrating automated testing, security scans, and quality gates to ensure reliable deployments.Enhance observability and operational excellence through logging, metrics, tracing, and alerting, while defining SLOs and SLIs to monitor system health and performance.Embed security by design, applying secure coding standards, threat modeling, role-based access controls, secrets management, and identity solutions such as OAuth2 and OIDC.Mentor and coach engineering team members, conducting code reviews, guiding design decisions, and promoting best practices to reduce technical debt.Collaborate with cross-functional teams including product managers, UX designers, QA, and platform engineers to plan, deliver, and optimize solutions.Set clear technical direction, balancing rapid delivery with long-term sustainability, and making informed trade-offs to meet project goals.Foster an inclusive engineering culture that values diverse perspectives, continuous improvement, and shared ownership of outcomes.Take accountability for delivery timelines, production stability, and incident management, focusing on root cause analysis and preventative measures.Streamline processes, automate workflows, and eliminate blockers to maintain high delivery velocity and quality.
