Senior Azure Infrastructure Engineer

We're currently seeking a Senior Cloud/Azure Infrastructure Engineer to join a Federal Government agency in Canberra, delivering a major Digital and Cyber Security Strategy Program. This role is available as either a contract or permanent engagement, depending on what suits you best. About the role: Location: Canberra ACT, hybrid working arrangementEngagement: Contract (12 months + 2 x 12-month extension options) or PermanentHours: Up to 40 hours per weekClearance: Baseline Security Clearance Minimum Key responsibilities: Lead the design and implementation of Azure and hybrid technical solutions as part of a broader technology programMaintain and monitor Azure and on-premise infrastructure, including patching, upgrades, performance and availability monitoringImplement and maintain backup and disaster recovery capabilitiesWork closely with cyber security teams to implement and maintain security controls aligned to frameworks such as PSPF, ISM and Essential 8Develop and maintain technical documentation, including architecture documents and as-built designsProvide technical leadership, mentoring and knowledge transfer to junior staff What we're looking for: Demonstrated experience designing and implementing secure, scalable solutions across a hybrid technology stackStrong infrastructure engineering experience across Azure (including Entra), virtualisation platforms (Hyper-V or VMware), infrastructure management/monitoring tools (SCVMM, SCOM), M365 (Copilot, Defender, Purview), Exchange Online, Windows Server, and backup/recovery technologies (Commvault, Veeam)Experience implementing and monitoring security controls aligned to industry and government frameworks (PSPF, ISM, Essential 8)Relevant Microsoft Azure certifications, such as AZ-900 or AZ-104 (desirable) If you're an experienced Cloud/Azure Infrastructure Engineer looking for meaningful, high-impact work with a stable and growing consultancy, we'd love to hear from you.
