The Plasmatreat Group has around 300 employees worldwide and operates technology centers in Germany, the USA, Canada, China and Japan, supported by a global sales and service network in more than 30 countries. Within the Benelux, you will be part of a small and hands-on local team. At the same time, you will work closely with colleagues in Germany and other European countries, giving you access to a broad international network of application specialists, engineers and service colleagues. For our Benelux organization, based in Eindhoven, we are looking for an Application & Field Service Engineer who enjoys combining hands-on engineering with customer interaction, troubleshooting and process development. The roleAs an Application & Field Service Engineer, you will work directly with customers to determine how plasma technology can improve their products and manufacturing processes. The role combines application engineering, technical service, commissioning and customer support. This means your work can vary significantly from day to day. You may spend one day in our lab testing plasma treatment on a new material together with a customer, and another day commissioning a production system, troubleshooting equipment or optimizing an existing process at a customer site. You will work with both atmospheric pressure and low-pressure plasma systems and gradually develop knowledge across several technical disciplines, including surface treatment, electrical engineering, mechanics, automation and industrial process technology. Your responsibilitiesYour activities will include: Performing application trials to evaluate whether plasma treatment can improve adhesion, wettability, cleaning, coating or other surface-related processes.Working with customers to define test methods, process parameters and suitable plasma configurations.Installing and commissioning plasma systems at customer sites.Diagnosing technical issues and performing troubleshooting, maintenance and repairs.Supporting customers with process optimization and integration of plasma systems into production equipment.Working with industrial automation systems, sensors, electrical components, pneumatics and mechanical assemblies.Providing technical support remotely and on-site.Training operators, engineers and maintenance personnel.Preparing technical reports, service documentation and test results.Preparing quotations for service activities, spare parts and technical support.Collaborating with colleagues in sales, engineering, service and R&D across the international Plasmatreat organization.Following up on technical questions and helping customers find practical solutions for their production processes. Most customer visits will be within the Benelux, with occasional travel to other European countries for training, projects or technical support. Who we are looking forWe are looking for someone who is technically curious, hands-on and comfortable working directly with customers. You enjoy understanding how machines and processes work, solving technical problems and learning new technologies. You do not need to be a plasma expert when you join us. We will provide training and help you develop the required application and product knowledge. Relevant vocational education, practical experience or a strong technical background and passion for technology can be equally valuable. Experience with industrial automation, PLC systems, fieldbus communication, electrical systems, pneumatics, process equipment or surface treatment technology is beneficial but not essential. What makes this role differentThis is not a traditional field service role focused only on maintenance and repairs. You will be involved in the complete technical process: from the first customer trial and evaluation of a new application to system integration, commissioning, optimization and long-term technical support. You will work in a small local team while being part of a much larger international technical organization. This gives you both independence in your day-to-day work and access to experienced colleagues across Europe when working on more complex applications or projects. The role offers the opportunity to develop knowledge across multiple disciplines while working with customers from very different industries and applications. If you enjoy experimenting, troubleshooting, working with industrial technology and seeing the direct result of your work in a customer's production process, this role could be a very good fit.
