Senior Aviation Project Manager Location: Colorado, Phoenix/Tucson, or Utah Job Type: Full-Time Industry: Engineering / Aviation Infrastructure / Transportation Lead Complex Aviation Infrastructure Projects within a company that has more projects than they currently support, which is the reason they need to add to the team. A growing engineering organization is seeking an experienced Senior Aviation Project Manager to lead and deliver complex airport development projects. This role offers the opportunity to oversee major aviation infrastructure initiatives while managing multidisciplinary teams through planning, design, and construction activities. Key Responsibilities Lead and manage airport development projects from planning through construction completionOversee project scope, schedules, budgets, technical quality, and regulatory complianceDirect multidisciplinary teams and coordinate internal resources and external partnersManage airside infrastructure projects including:RunwaysTaxiwaysAircraft parking apronsAirfield pavementsGrading and drainage systemsPavement markingsEnsure designs comply with FAA standards, airport authority requirements, and applicable state and local regulationsPrepare and negotiate project scopes, schedules, and fee proposalsMonitor project budgets, invoices, and financial performanceConduct quality assurance and quality control reviewsSupport business development efforts and strengthen client relationshipsParticipate in project pursuits, presentations, and industry eventsMentor project managers and junior engineering staff Qualifications Required Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or related disciplineProfessional Engineer (PE) license, or ability to obtain Colorado PE licensure within six months10 to 15+ years of engineering and project management experienceMinimum 3+ years of aviation or airport engineering experienceExperience using AutoCAD Civil 3DStrong understanding of FAA Advisory Circulars and airport design requirementsExperience managing complex, high-value engineering projectsStrong client communication and contract negotiation skillsValid driver's license, or ability to obtain one shortly after hire Preferred Existing client relationships within ColoradoPrior leadership or mentorship experienceExperience supporting business development initiatives What You'll Bring Strong technical expertise in aviation infrastructure designExceptional leadership and project management abilitiesAbility to coordinate multiple stakeholders and competing prioritiesStrong financial and budget management skillsStrategic thinking with a client-focused mindset Work Environment This position combines office work with field activities supporting active airport and construction environments.
