## About the Role
Brooksource is seeking a **Lead Engineer** to combine hands-on application development with technical leadership and solution design.
This fully remote role supports end-to-end delivery across SaaS platforms, custom applications, APIs, integrations, automation, and production implementation.
The Lead Engineer will work closely with engineering, architecture, and operational teams to shape technical solutions, guide developers, maintain implementation quality, and support applications throughout production.
This role offers an opportunity to influence technical decisions while remaining actively involved in software engineering and delivery.
## Key Responsibilities
* Lead hands-on development and technical delivery of application products and services from design through production implementation.
* Contribute to solution architecture and participate in technical design reviews.
* Create conceptual and detailed technical design documentation.
* Develop and support SaaS platforms, custom applications, APIs, integrations, and automation.
* Maintain production-quality software implementations.
* Provide technical leadership through developer mentoring, guidance, code reviews, and engineering best practices.
* Partner with architecture, operational, and build teams to define testing, implementation, upgrade, and patch strategies.
* Monitor implementation quality and communicate delivery progress and technical risks.
* Support Tier 3 application issues and change activities.
* Collaborate across engineering, architecture, and operations to communicate technical risks, decisions, and delivery progress.
* Provide software-engineering perspectives on system requirements.
* Support production applications through advanced troubleshooting, upgrades, patches, and implementation activities.
## Required Qualifications
* Strong hands-on application engineering experience.
* Experience with SaaS platforms, custom applications, APIs, integrations, automation, and production implementation.
* Proven technical leadership experience, including mentoring developers and guiding engineering best practices.
* Ability to influence code quality and technical decisions without requiring formal people-management authority.
* Experience contributing to solution architecture and technical design reviews.
* Experience overseeing implementation quality.
* Experience supporting production applications, including advanced troubleshooting, upgrades, patches, and implementation support.
* Strong collaboration and communication skills across engineering, architecture, and operational teams.
* Ability to clearly communicate technical risks, decisions, and delivery progress.
* Experience creating technical design documentation.
* Ability to provide software-engineering perspectives on system requirements.
