Our client, a Melbourne-based managed services provider, is hiring a Level 3 Network & Security Engineer to be the top technical escalation point for its Network, Security & Cyber team.
You'll take the toughest tickets, lead major incident response and coach the engineers coming up behind you.
What you'll do
Act as the escalation point for L1/L2 engineers across incidents, service requests and changesLead the technical response on P1/P2 major incidents, then own root cause analysis and deliver the customer-facing write-upResolve complex, cross-domain and multi-vendor faults end to endDesign, configure and troubleshoot firewall and routing policy across Palo Alto and Fortinet environments, including SD-WANPlan and deliver changes with rollback plans, including after-hours windows, upgrades and migrationsPass chronic, recurring faults to the technical lead for formal problem managementMentor L2 engineers and contribute runbooks, knowledge articles and automation
What you'll bring
6+ years in network and security engineering, including 2+ years at L3 or senior escalation level within an MSP or MSSPDeep, hands-on Fortinet experience: FortiGate, FortiSwitch, FortiAP, Fortinet Secure SD-WAN, FortiManager and FortiAnalyzer.
NSE 4 minimum; NSE 5/6/7 highly regardedPalo Alto Networks firewalls and Panorama: security policy, App-ID/User-ID, NAT, VPN, threat prevention.
PCNSA/PCNSE highly regardedEnterprise routing and switching: BGP, OSPF, VLANs, STP, HA/clustering, QoS, IPSec and remote-access VPNA track record of independently resolving complex multi-vendor faults, with RCAs that hold up under customer scrutinyITIL-aligned discipline across tickets, change and problem management, with comfort working to measured SLA and quality targetsAustralian work rights, and availability for on-call, after-hours work and customer site visits
