Our client is a well-established mining operation recognised for its commitment to safety, asset performance and continuous improvement.
As part of their ongoing investment in reliability and operational excellence, they are seeking an experienced Reliability Engineer - Fixed Plant to join their site-based maintenance team on a permanent basis.
The Role
This is an excellent opportunity to play a key role in improving the reliability, availability and performance of critical fixed plant assets across a large-scale processing operation.
Working closely with Maintenance, Operations and Technical Services teams, you will be responsible for identifying reliability improvement opportunities, eliminating recurring equipment failures and driving initiatives that maximise plant performance while reducing downtime and maintenance costs.
This position offers significant exposure to asset strategy, defect elimination and continuous improvement initiatives, allowing you to make a tangible impact on operational outcomes.
Key Responsibilities
Develop and execute reliability strategies for critical processing plant assets.Analyse maintenance and operational data to identify trends, risks and performance improvement opportunities.Lead Root Cause Analysis (RCA) investigations and implement sustainable corrective actions.Review and optimise preventive and predictive maintenance strategies.Facilitate RCM, FMEA and criticality assessments to improve equipment reliability.Support shutdown planning, execution and post-shutdown reviews.Monitor asset health and reliability KPIs, providing actionable recommendations.Partner with Operations and Maintenance teams to improve equipment performance and plant availability.Drive continuous improvement initiatives focused on safety, reliability and cost reduction.Support and enhance condition monitoring and predictive maintenance programs.
About You
Degree-qualified in Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline.Demonstrated experience in Reliability Engineering within mining, mineral processing, heavy industry, power generation, manufacturing or a comparable asset-intensive environment.Strong understanding of fixed plant equipment such as crushers, conveyors, pumps, screens, mills and processing circuits.Hands-on experience applying reliability methodologies including RCA, RCM and FMEA.Strong analytical, problem-solving and stakeholder engagement skills.Experience with SAP PM or similar CMMS platforms.
