BettingJobs is partnering with a multi-brand online operator serving customers across a wide international footprint to appoint a senior technical authority for international web reachability.
The operator's brands are accessible in many markets, but in some regions they load slowly, fail intermittently or can't be reached at all.
This newly defined role exists to find out why, market by market, and fix it properly.
It's a rare chance to build and own a strategically critical function with direct influence at CTO level.
You'll own international reachability end to end, working out whether each issue is technical (routing, DNS, CDN coverage), reputational (blocklisting or filter misclassification) or regulatory (licences and registrations), then driving the right fix through legitimate, documented routes.
Working closely with the CTO, Legal and Compliance, you'll set the strategy, architecture and standards that keep the brands reliably and lawfully accessible.
This suits a senior network, infrastructure or SRE specialist who enjoys deep diagnostic work as much as shaping technical direction.
Responsibilities:
Build a market-by-market view of availability and performance using in-region probes, synthetic checks and monitoring, with dashboards and alerting.Diagnose root causes across routing, peering, DNS, CDN, TLS, IP reputation and content-filter categorisation.Design and run multi-region CDN, DNS (anycast, GeoDNS) and hosting, including moving onto dedicated or clean IP ranges where needed.Manage localised country-code domains and meet local registration requirements.Lead delisting and recategorisation with ISPs, filtering and security vendors, and maintain strong domain and IP reputation.Run the technical side of licensing and market entry, and flag legally restricted markets for business decisions.Own the international reachability strategy, set cross-team standards, advise senior leadership on risk and investment, and mentor engineers.
Requirements:
7+ years in network, infrastructure or site reliability engineering, including senior ownership of complex or international availability initiatives.Deep hands-on knowledge of DNS (anycast, GeoDNS, DNSSEC), BGP, TLS and HTTP/2 and HTTP/3.Production experience with a major CDN or edge platform, including multi-region set-up.A track record of diagnosing regional reachability issues and securing delisting or recategorisation.Infrastructure-as-code (Terraform or similar) and a modern monitoring stack.Sound judgement: you know when a problem needs a technical fix and when it's a legal matter to escalate.Strong stakeholder skills, with the ability to turn complex technical and regulatory issues into clear business recommendations.
