Senior Specialist – Software Engineering Location: Canada Work Model: Remote Job Type: Full Time Experience: 9–15 Years Openings: 1 Job Summary We are looking for a Senior Software Engineer with strong hands-on experience in .NET Core, Web API, Angular, Microservices, SQL Server, and Azure to design, develop, and maintain scalable enterprise applications. The ideal candidate will have experience working on banking or financial services applications, with a strong understanding of secure, high-volume, transaction-oriented systems and modern cloud-based solutions. Key Responsibilities Design, develop, and maintain enterprise web applications using ASP.NET Core, .NET Framework, MVC, and Web API.Develop scalable and secure RESTful APIs and microservices.Build responsive web applications using Angular, HTML5, CSS, and JavaScript/TypeScript.Design database tables, write SQL queries, stored procedures, and optimize database performance using SQL Server.Work with Entity Framework / Entity Framework Core or equivalent ORM frameworks.Apply software design patterns, coding standards, SOLID principles, and best practices.Develop and integrate cloud-based solutions using Microsoft Azure.Work with Azure services including:Azure App Service / Web AppsAzure FunctionsAzure StorageAzure SQL / SQL Managed InstanceAzure Service BusAzure Data FactoryAzure Logic AppsAzure SynapseDesign and implement integrations between enterprise applications and external/internal systems.Participate in code reviews, troubleshooting, performance optimization, and production support.Collaborate with architects, business analysts, QA teams, DevOps engineers, and other stakeholders.Work in an Agile/Scrum development environment.Contribute to technical design, estimation, documentation, testing, and deployment activities.Apply secure coding practices and enterprise development standards.Explore and apply AI-assisted development tools and practices where appropriate.Required Technical Skills 8–10+ years of overall IT/software development experience.Strong hands-on experience with Microsoft .NET technologies.Strong experience with .NET Core / ASP.NET Core and Web API.Strong experience with ASP.NET MVC / MVC Core.Strong hands-on experience with Angular.Strong knowledge of HTML5, CSS, JavaScript/TypeScript.Experience developing Microservices and REST APIs.Strong SQL Server experience, including:Database designTablesStored proceduresComplex queriesPerformance tuningExperience with Entity Framework / Entity Framework Core.Strong understanding of design patterns, SOLID principles, coding standards, and software architecture.Hands-on experience with Microsoft Azure cloud services.Experience working in Agile/Scrum environments.Banking / Financial Services Experience Prior experience in Banking or Financial Services is required.Experience developing applications for banking, financial services, payments, lending, cards, wealth management, or other financial platforms.Understanding of secure, high-volume and transaction-oriented applications.Experience working with sensitive financial/customer data and enterprise security standards.Experience integrating applications with banking or financial systems is highly desirable.Preferred Qualifications Experience with Azure-based microservices and distributed applications.Experience with CI/CD and modern DevOps practices.Experience with automated testing and API testing.Knowledge of cloud security and enterprise integration patterns.Experience with AI-assisted software development tools is an asset.Strong communication, analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills.What You’ll Bring Strong hands-on development and coding capabilities.Ability to design and deliver scalable enterprise applications.Strong understanding of modern software engineering practices.Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with distributed Agile teams.Strong communication skills and the ability to work with technical and business stakeholders.Experience delivering high-quality solutions within complex enterprise environments.
