Senior Frontend Software Engineer

About the Opportunity: The Sr. Software Engineer- Frontend (APS) will lead frontend development focused on customizing and extending advanced web-based CAD and BIM visualization tools. This role is responsible for building professional-grade workflows on top of complex design and construction data rendered directly in browsers, enhancing visualization capabilities to support specific domain use cases. The position contributes by optimizing performance and usability, integrating with backend services, and ensuring scalable, maintainable frontend solutions that improve user interactions. 3. Responsibilities: Lead frontend development of Autodesk Platform Services (APS) Viewer extensions.Design and maintain custom APS Viewer enhancements for CAD and BIM workflows.Develop advanced visualization features including model selection, sectioning, measurement, markup, and comparison.Customize rendering and interaction patterns using WebGL, SVG, JavaScript, and related technologies.Extend three.js-based visualization capabilities within the APS ecosystem.Integrate viewer experiences with backend services managing model data and business workflows.Collaborate with Product Management, UX Design, and backend teams to deliver intuitive user experiences.Optimize rendering performance and responsiveness for large and complex models.Troubleshoot visualization and rendering issues across browsers.Mentor engineers and contribute to frontend best practices and architecture discussions. 4. Requirements: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field, or equivalent experience.Extensive experience with web-based graphics technologies such as WebGL, SVG, and three.js.Strong JavaScript skills and modern frontend development practices.Solid understanding of browser rendering and graphics programming.Proven ability to build complex, graphics-intensive web applications.Experience optimizing performance and scalability for large datasets.Ability to integrate frontend applications with backend APIs.Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.Effective communication and collaboration abilities. 5. Pay Range and Compensation Package: The annual base salary range for this full-time position is $155,000–$170,000 (less applicable taxes). The actual annual base salary offered may vary based on factors such as location, education, skills, and training.
